Mascherano better than Gerrard? Do me a favour. Gerrard can do things with the ball that Mascherano could only dream about. Mascherano himself admitted in an interview that he used to be a striker when he was younger, but as he moved up the ranks in Argentina he realised he wasn't good enough and remoulded his game to what it is now. Mascherano is excellent at what he does, one of the best in the world. But it's a limited role. He's in the side to stop the other team play. That's why he played so well against Arsenal the other week. He's a stopper. He's like a Makelele, Deschamps, Hammann, Gattuso. They are vital to the best sides, but they need the Gerrards, Zidanes and Kakas of this world to play with them or else they don't look nearly as good.

Finnan should start in every important game we have. I can't believe you are lot are dismissing him already after a good performance from Arbeloa, against a very weak side. Finnan has consistently been one the best full backs in the league for the past couple of seasons. Ridiculous.

It was well funny when a few of the Arsenal players were kicking up a stink when Eboue was lying on the floor. Gallas and Flamini were in Carras face moaning. Carra just put his harm around Flamini and told him to f*** off. Brilliant.

That's not correct. We win our remaining games, we go through, regardless of how the other results go. The worst case scenario if we win all of our games is that Porto top the group on 11 points, and us and Marseille are on 10 points. It'd therefore come down to results between us and Marseille. The only result which could put us in danger here is us winning 1-0, which would then mean it'd go to goal difference. Any other scoreline and we'd be through.

Forgot to add, what price are we to win the Champions League and what price are we to qualify from the group? I can't check gambling sites at whilst at work

but now could be a good time to stick a cheeky bet on us winning the Champions League, or at least betting on us qualifying out of the group stage. Sure it's not looking good, but win all 3 games and we're through. It's still in our hands.

Babel and Kuyt have looked pretty good. Voronin and Pennant desperate. The 2 of them should come off. Pennant is a winger who never shows for the ball and never beats a man. Finnan's looked very shaky tonight.
