So we have at CB in the summer Van Dijk - 1 year left on his contract and 35 years old Joe Gomez - 1 year left, always injured and never plays Konate - Out of contract Leoni - Injured with ACL, 1 senior game played in England. Glad we’re taking such a sensible approach to this position.

I wouldn’t, but I would have fired Souness, Evans, Houllier, Hodgson, Rodgers much earlier. They were all allowed to carry on too long. Dalglish is the only one who fired with any immediacy and that was the only one were really he should have been given further time as he’d reached two cup finals the season before. The Klopp poor run we all know what the situation was, the failure of the club to buy adequate replacement for the injured players in January, and how much credit he had banked over a number of seasons, he also actually managed to turn that season around to some extent and there were signs of recovery with a makeshift defence. If Slot manages the same then fair enough, but there aren’t any signs yet. I hope you’re right, or that he pulls some miraculous recovery. I’m really just going off our history of being very reluctant to sack managers and keeping them well after their best before date
