The one thing with chelsea, which loads of us said at the time, was their system was never going to suit him and no matter what they've tried the other players/tactics don't suit him. If plenty of us could see that why couldn't he or his advisors. Plus it was a visibly aging team which was going to need rebuilding - so he really wasn't joining the finished article. I just think he wanted out and they were his only option

There was a time many years ago that I was very depressed for a prolonged period but did not feel able to talk to anyone about it. Much later having come out the other side, I did begin to speak to a few people about how I had felt - none had any idea, including my parents. One thing that has struck me - in every photo of him I have seen published since his death he is unsmiling. This may be an editorial thing, but it has made me wonder about whether he was hiding depression

I'm sure a big part of the defence of him is down to the years of moaning from that lot that english managers aren't given the jobs at the big clubs. One finally does and f***s it up royally - what do they do, admit their previous campaign was horseschit or find any reason they can to deflect attention/blame onto other factors?

Its very easy to see rafa working with these owners - the whole ethos of attention to details, statistical analysis etc.
