Completely agree on the vfm point, exacerbated by not having alternative options in the squad to come in when needed. The other big difference is that we have been selling poorly. We paid for Virgil and Alisson with the Coutinho sale. We've not had the equivalent of that for a long time. In one way that's good (haven't been forced to sell a key player), but instead they have all left for free (Trent, Ibu, Mo etc).

We've changed approach these past 2 summers. Spending all the money on Isak, Wirtz and Barcola has meant not getting 6-10 cheaper players and ensuring we have a squad - which was mainly the approach under Klopp
