Don't think it is so much a formation issue as it is a personnel issue. If N'Gog is the best replacement in terms of ability to Cole then I don't have a problem with a 442 formation against Chelsea, or any team for that matter. Despite Gerrard and Torres looking quite s*** yesterday I would still rather have their old partnership restored vs Chelsea in these circumstances. Hugo and Lucas can play CM. Anyone in the loop on Kuyt and Johnson these days? How long before we see them back?

I for one would love it if Hodgson will prove me wrong and we end up winning the rest of the games this season
