This article on .tv seems to imply that Kuyt will be playing on Sunday, but I'm not sure if it's from the PC today (was there one?) or from the interview Rafa did earlier this week.

Well if you put it that way then I guess it all boils down to how much you are prepared to harm the club in getting the owners out (see Hassony's burning Anfield post) The unbuilt stadium is a huge goodwill asset for the club, destroying that would mean a big drop in club value and could potentially force the owner to do very nasty things with the club in order to get their invested money back.

Hmm... I see Yossi as the better wide player, more likely to successfully take on the fullback and deliver a decent cross. While Babel should imo be groomed as a central attacker in this case playing slightly behind Crouch and adding a bit of pace to our front line that Crouch so desperately lacks. Wouldn't mind seeing Kuyt and Crouch lining up against Chelsea actually. I reckon a difficult game like this could be what wakes the underachievers of this season up and starts performing. Dirk is a fine bloke after all and I would love it if he puts one in the net on Sunday to rescue his season (and contract). Same goes for Riise who I remember played brilliantly during the CL semis last season. JP is not my favorite player a the moment but he does add width which I think is somewhat of a necessity while Crouch is playing upfront. Doubt that Gerrard would provide that width and I fear he would either fade out of the game or get tangled in centrally in the position I would like to see Babel play.

Boycotting match tickets, merchandise and that kind of stuff has a short term economical effect hopefully enlightens the owners of their lack of support and the seriousness among the fans (although the effect on the ownership of the club, I'm afraid, may be very limited). The stadium not being built has a decremental effect on the club in a very long term perspective, and is an absolutely senseless idea.

Could it be that along with making the top 4 even more distant to the rest the premier league teams in terms of direct money and PR it also opens a gap between the bottom clubs and those outside the prem. The smaller clubs can ride on the wave of the big ones. They will receive - especially for them - a huge income raise and will for the first time be able to market themselves in places like the far east, middle east, northern america etc. A privilege previously reserved for the likes of Liverpool, Man U and Arsenal + small number of other premier league clubs.

RIP A sad day for football it was

Wasn't too xabi, in fact i even though he was ok againt Villa as well. Without Alvaro I think he's given on the RB slot even with his bad form. With both Arbeloa and Finnan playing I still feel Arbeloa is more comfortable playing on the left though.

If we improve our play to a level of what we had the first 3-4 months of the league season he stands a good chance. For the last month we've been generally crap and Torres haven't scored a lot. Easy as that.

Best and most consistent performer for us this season. Not sure about some fans being unconvinced, if there is would they please tell me how we could possibly get a better keeper. He is a least among the top 5 keepers in the world. And still only 25 years old, which is a kid in goalkeeping terms. We are lucky to have him at the club. End of.
