Been to a couple of la liga matches and I don't think away fans in home sections is as dangerous thing in Spain as it is in England. Probably not in most other countries as well either.

Actually thought the ref improved for the second half. Javier yellow was strange however and they did get some very soft freekicks.

Without to much of a product to show for it, he did work very hard when he came on. Was a difficult game for both him and Torres. At least Ryan looked slightly more comfortable than playing on the left wing.

Find it strange you didn't mention Benny, thought he was awesome today. MOM for me, even without the goal.

I for one am optimistic about tomorrow. Think we'll see Alonso and Mascherano in their primes, they will be key and they will deliver. Mark my words. One thing that worries me a bit about tomorrow and every time we miss Gerrard (assuming does not start) is his replacement and the effect it has on our attacking play. Kuyt's mostly played there, at least that is my impression and I don't think it works. He does not have the ability to connect midfield and forward line imo. Benayoun is a better choice, I can't help get the feeling that every time he kick things off around the penalty area or bringing the ball forward towards an attacking position we have a much better chance for the attack to end up with an effort on goal than anyone else in our team except Gerrard.

But lot of this season has showed we are much better than ever before during the last 6 or 7 years. We have a great central spine in our team and a few youngster that for now are good backups. Don't want any more squad fillers, but rather have Rafa aiming for just a very few players of great quality. Skill being the quality I most want in the team, a John Barnes of '88 on each side of the midfield surrounding Torres and Gerrard would do or in a more traditional 442 including a worthy partner for Fernando.

When Gerrard's gone I prefer Benny in the middle (Stevie's position). Do not like the sight of Kuyt playing there. Overall deserves a lot of credit for what he has done the last couple of month. Was starting to doubt he didn't have it in him.

No doubt. We need a couple of player say in the 18m+ category. I we spend 50m on two wingers and a striker this summer I'll be well satisfied. Our fullbacks may not be the very greatest, but I'd stick with what we've got for now.
