Even on the assumption that he wouldn't take a pay cut, loads of teams in Italy could afford to pay that. There were rumours that Vlaovic was on over 300k. You'd have to think that the likes of Bastoni, Lautaro, Lukaku, Thuram, Barella, Dybala, De Bruyne, Modric, Jonathon David etc are on more than 150k.

As "sensible" people, it would make more sense for him to have got a decent signing on fee and a heavily incentivised contract. I'd be really surprised if he was on six figures because that wouldn't make any sense as a business decision.
