    Manc Scum

f***ing b******s. Don't you think the Mancs tell themselves exactly the same thing? 'Only thing those scouse c**** will understand'. It is playground stuff - 'They started it...' If something isn't right, you don't do it. End of. If you think that it IS right to sing about Munich, Shipman etc because of what they sing about Shields/Hillsborough etc then say that and we can have that debate. If you don't think it is right, then don't semi-condone it by pointing out the wrongs that they do. People who sing about Hillsborough are behaving like w*****s, irrespective of provocation. Likewise people who sing about Munich. Why complicate something that is so simple and so self-evident?

  3. Kewell? Big game? Injury? Unprecedented. Serioulsy though, shame if he isn't available - not that I'd back him to tear them to pieces, just that he does give us better shape.
  4. What does that mean? He was 'promised' 90 minutes and was pissed off that he didn't get it? Sorry, but that is b******s. He was having a poor game and whilst I don't think his reaction was a massive deal and I'm not going to slate the kid for it, he did make himself look a bit of a t**. Agree with pretty much all of that.
  5. Is it really that ridiculous though? Maybe the wording isn't quite right, as someone who travels the country to watch Liverpool clearly IS, at least in some sense, a 'real fan' - regardless of whatever else they get up to at the game. I think the point the lad was trying to make though is that actions like ripping up seats or other acts of vandalism or hooliganism do nothing to encourage the team, which is what being a 'supporter' is supposedly about. If such things are done by people who go week in, week out, their regular attendance at games shouldn't make them immune from criticism. Accusing of them not being 'real fans' is possibly the wrong way of wording it. The little group of racist t***s who have started attracting attention to themselves at some away games are still 'real fans' in one sense, but I for one have no problem in saying that I find their behaviour objectionable and pathetic in every way, not least given that their attentions should be focussed on supporting the team. I feel the same about anyone who feels a need to rip up seats at OT on Saturday. I live in the real world, I know and have seen what goes on and I know what is likely to go on on Saturday. I know that for some people it is and always has been an extension of their concept of what it means to be a 'fan'. Personally I don't see any need for or use in such behaviour given that it does nothing whatsoever to help the team. I'm not going to say that those people aren't 'real' fans, just that their concept of what being a fan means/requires is different to mine. I thinkn that is what the original post was saying and that is something that most of us can probably agree with, even if we aren't totally in agreement with the way in which it was worded.
  6. Do you not think the 'mancie w-ankies' would have every right to get upset if this happened? Wouldn't we have every right to get uspset if they turned up at Anfield with bus marked with '89' or '96' or something like that? The whole story (banner, bus, the works) is small time beyond belief. It would be bad enough if we we're even playing United but this game has f*** all to do with them and anyone who would waste their inventing/being amused by s*** like this is a f***ing d****ead to an extent that almost beggars belief.
  7. ...and still nothing in the ballot for me. I wouldn't mind so much missing out in the ballot if: (a) I felt it had been done fairly, which would have at least meant everyone who was entitled to a letter getting one (instead of 1 out of the 5 people I normally go with receiving one and numerous others I know of not getting theirs either) and (b) I didn't feel that the ticket office had blatantly lied to me on a number of occasion during this farce - first of all telling me to photocopy the one form we had, then someone else telling me they don't accept photocopies only to backtrack when I told them they were contradicting their colleague and claim that it is actually forms downloaded from the Internet they don't accept (how they can tell the difference I don't know). The best lie though was telling me that the person who told me to photocopy the form has made a note of this on my fancard details to ensure it would be accepted - if they did then Derren f***ing Brown must work in the ticket office becuase I didn't gave that person my name or fancard number. Has anyone on here managed to get a ticket using a photocopied form? Was anyone else told to use one? How many people didn't their letters? f***ing fuming and even if I get a ticket at the end of all this (higly improbable now) I'll still be writing them letter over this.
  8. It is the fact tha he is washed up and would get s*** results that would make the fans force him out. Does anyone honestly think that fans of Newcastle (50 years and counting since their last domestic trophy) would really give a s*** about the style of football their side plays if they actually won stuff? They might bang on about 'sexy football' and all that s**** but it rings hollow with me. Most overrated fans ever.
  9. Fair enough if so, the other poster seemed adamant that he did. Likewise, you said Neville wasn't but someone else says he was. My main point still stands - if people have chosen to do this and the idea has come from other clubs themselves then that is a good thing. If it has been imposed on them to some degree than I'm personally not sure that it means anything. But anyway, f*** it, today of all days is not the time to be having a philosophical debate about it. People are wearing them, end of, and those who are wearing them because they do give a s*** get a big thanks from me.
  10. And yet in the past he's always been so sensitive with regards to people's feelings about Hillsborough... If he did rip it off (and there seems to be some debate as to whether he did) then that just adds to the slightly uncomfortable feeling that I have over this whole idea of other clubs wearing (or seemingly being told to wear) the armbands. Like it or not, it isn't going to mean as much to some others as it does to us so things like this will be bound to happen and people will be bound to get upset. To some it won't mean anything at all and they'll just be paying lip service to it all whilst at the same time being more than happy to take the S*n's money. Nice idea, well-intentioned but not something I really agree with. The justice campaign is something that IS relevant to all clubs and fans but the armbands have nothing to do with that . They are a way of remembering the dead irrespective of any justice campaign and that is for us to do. If others choose to do it as well then good on them, but many people will probably feel that this has been imposed on them a bit. I'm not even remotely saying that WE should stop remembering Hillsborough or stop campaigning for justice and if this all helps to keep it in the public consciousness then that is a good thing. There are just aspects of it that I'm not sure about.

  12. If Garcia is sold then I'd agree we need 2 players wide right to come in but again, whatever you, I or anyone else thinks of him Rafa has played him predominantly on the right. Still think as well that we will use (and be right to use) Gerrard wide right next year at times, regardless of who comes in. He may well be more effective through the middle but given that his ability and versatility allow him to be a quality option in other positions I can see him being played there as there will be times when Xabi and Momo in the centre will be the right blend. But yes, I do agree that it s an area where we need a quality player bringing in though as I said I'm really not sure who that should be.

  15. Some valid points, though I don't see any use in bringing someone in on a free to simply 'do a job' wide right. Whatever you think about Garcia, the very least that can be said about him is that he 'does a job' for the team - his goals record at least outweighs his surrendering of possession and given that he hs been used there for the majority of his time here it appears that Rafa would agree. Nor am I advocating hanging any hats on Anderson - or any of the other youngsters. I just feel that if they are the real deal then they will be forcing themselves into the reckoning at some point next year. Buying a stop-gap right winger would only either hinder their progress or be a pointless exercise if they were overtaken by one of the kids anyway. Where Gerrard would be happier himself playing is irrelevant. The manger will decide where he can best beneift the team and play him there. I suspect that when Alonso and Sissoko are fit that will often be at right-mid, where there are few better. I take the point about needing quality cover out there in the event of injuries, and someone who would give genuine width and pace (which Garcia, Kewell, Anderson or any of the options at the club either can't do or haven't yet proved that they can do). That being the case, maybe we can justify a big chunk of the transfer budget on a right midfielder (as a centre forward is arguably the only other area that urgently needs addressing). Not sure that SWP is the man though (although I know you weren't particularly claiming that he was), and not just because of his cost. Like I said, SWP is worth however much Rafa is willing to pay for him, but people also need to ask why he hasn't broken into the Chelsea team and whether he is quite all that he is made out to be. I've seen very little of him so can't claim to know either way. If Rafa goes for him, that is good enough for me but as it stands I'm not convinced.
  16. I agree that he is a better option than Potter and it is exciting to even be able to have a debate again about whether or not a 17 year old is ready for the first team, as the last one was Owen I suppose (Gerrard was 18 I think, and probably 19 before he really started to come through due to his injuries). I wouldn't be against giving him a run in the last couple of games if everything is tied up as that could be the chance to blood him. He might take to it straight away - although by his own admission he was nowhere near the Hull first team only 6 months ago so I'd be playing him more with an eye to getting him experience than because of what he could contribute at this stage. Good player though.
  17. Very pleasing display. Under the cosh a little bit at times in thes econd half but still managed to look dangerous on the break. The most pleasing aspect for me was that pretty much all of our players (certainly in midfield and attack) looked so comfortable on the ball and had such assured first touches. Not sure that any of them are ready for the first team squad just yet. There is no Owen in the side on the evidence of last night (i.e. someone who is clearly just far better than everything else around him at the level) but in a strange sort of way it was quite reassuring to see that the likes of Anderson and Hamill don't just rely on sheer pace or brute force because that would soon be negated anyway if they stepped up to first team level. Their technique and awareness was excellent and that more than anything was what was impressive about them. Antwi impressed me with hs sheer comittment and physicality too, probably man of the match for me due to his second half display - thought he kept things together when we might have started rocking a bit. Personally I didn't see anyone who is truly ready for the first team, but lots of promise and if just two of the team make it at Liverpool then that is an excellent return.
  18. Make it a sticky. The thread, that is.
  19. I hope you don't get banned cos watching you unravel is hilarious. First you posted decent stuff, then you developed a chip on your shoulder the size of sack of King Edwards and you started pissing me off, now you just come across as a microcosm of your club - smalltime, whinging, grudge-bearing, delusional, insecure and a perfect reminder of why you will always be in our shadow. Please don't f*** off as others have asked you to, I'd miss you. Fish. Barrell. Bang.
  20. Attendances always are, and always will be, very low for earlier rounds of the Youth Cup. Rightly or wrongly, people wait to hear if there any players who it might be worth getting excited about before going to have a look for themselves. Agree that loyalty from earlier rounds should have been rewarded though. Wouldn't have hurt the club to even give free entry to anyone who had been to, say, two previous Youth Cup games this season. Haven't been to earlier games, but going tonight. Return leg next Friday.
  21. 'The bitters' is a United nickname for Man City in my book. Not meaning to be pedantic or arsey mate, just one of my bug-bears! (Not that they aren't bitter, mind!)

    Semi final

Yeah, fair enough (as I've already said!). It is more the s**** way that the ballot has been organised that has pissed me off (letters not being sent etc). I got a copy of a form and hand delivered it yesterday, so will have to wait and see.
  23. Oh ok, thanks for clearing that up then. Was just suggesting an alternative explanation to the endless repetition of 'This means Robbie is out' vs 'Nah, he's just playing his cards close to his chest'. Speculation, but no more than anything else in this thread and hardly implausible in the light of the fact that the kind of player Rafa is saying we don't have is the kind of player Cisse was supposed to be. Don't know if I'm right or not. We'll have to wait and see what happens to the two of them at the end of the season.

  25. I've just got mine, prime spec in the Kop, block 205 - though a couple of rows behind my season ticket seat, as that was gone which suggests they are selling.
