You can only beat the team in front of you, and they were woefully bad, but we even played some decent football. Makes me struggle to understand how we got thrashed at home by PSV (who finished even lower than this lot), but I guess that's our season really. Was a fun watch, and I hope we can carry some of this through to the Newcastle game, but I'm hoping much more than expecting.

I think Hughes should probably go too. To spend so much money and contribute to making the team so much worse. He's not make Slot's job any easier, even if Slot has been exposed.

The players are humans. And it's like at work when you lose respect for the boss, and you think he's an idiot, and nobody really gives a crap. Obviously the players should care more, cos they're paid a fortune, and should be playing more for the fans, but you can just tell, they don't give a crap about the manager and don't want to play for him. We've seen it before with past managers. The stats (s*** form, 21 points from 18 games, running less etc) and what we see with our eyes every game shows. Yes - there's always the chance it might get worse with someone else. But I hope the suits and FSG can see things as clearly as we can, because why would anybody think things are magically going to change, when we've been like this the entire season, and 5 lucky wins at the start doesn't mask that.

Yeah. I was talking to a friend (who isn't into sport) about this, and how I find it frustrating to get annoyed by sport stuff, but she totally understood - Life can often be challenging and s***ty. The world is a s***-show. Sport should give us a nice break from this, not add to our frustration.

I wonder what our suited boffins think of it it all. I watched the first 20 minutes and it was like we were controlling the game without doing anything or creating anything. And then it just came as no surprise when they scored from the first two chances they created. Second half was broadly the same. We controlled much of the game, didn't create anything and the opposition looked more dangerous. Do Hughes/Edwards think "Yes! this is the kind of football we want Liverpool to be playing. Just wait until it all clicks into gear?".

We're in that territory where Mancs were with Ten Hag, with us not wanting them to sack him because it was funny and we knew he was s***. What an embarrassment.
