  1. Pre-season football is how I see it. Like we're waiting for something to happen. Trying to conserve energy by not actually playing football. Then throwing players on randomly even when it makes us less likely to score (and probably more likely to concede). And re "it's never going to be at the levels it was under Klopp" Klopp was maybe a one off, but they're playing for one of the best clubs in the world in front of the best fans in the world, and they look like they can't be assed. Even when we cut back on the most intense pressing (that was maybe leading to too many injuries / exhaustion etc) under Klopp, we had the ability to press. We attacked with intensity, we were mentality monsters. We've gone so far away from all of that, it's offensive. And that's on the manager and the players.
  2. This is where it's impossible to separate correlation with causation... We looked so much better in the first half of last season, where (by his own admission) he'd only made small tweaks to Klopp's tactics. The longer he's been here, the worse we've looked. But it's hard to know how much of this is down to: - Jota's death - Teams often having a slump after winning the league (albeit our slump is worse than most) - Dynamic of the dressing room all wrong (mix of Slot and the signings the and sales the boffins made) - Slot just not being a very good manager... Or could be various combinations of the above...
  3. Yeah. It's a really s*** feeling to not look forward to our games, watch them hoping but not expecting, and still being disappointed time and time again.
  4. It's embarrassing to see other teams consistently playing more quickly and incisively.
  5. He did it a couple times, but he's not really a problem. I think when he did slow it down it was because there wasn't much movement ahead of him.
  6. Yeah, there's an element of bad luck in it (teams constantly scoring from their single shot on target, us woefully underperforming in front of goal) but then when it carries on happening, you know there's a bigger problem. This team used to be ruthless, and used to be mentality monsters. Now I just want to scream "F**k" because of how s*** we are. Failing to win at home to promoted teams is always a sign of a team that has fundamental flaws.
  7. He took Smithdown's advice and just smashed it into the net. Unlucky not to have scored a second, and Gakpo should have scored to give him another assist too. Thought he was really, really good today.
  8. XG for this one actually looked right. 2.96 for us, 0.4 for them. But they did outrun us again.
  9. In terms of attacking - we played much better than we have recently (albeit against a crap team), and really should have scored more. But in most of our games we still spend way too much time looking like we're playing a a pre-season friendly.
  10. It was like we nearly scored a second, then decided to just start messing around at the back, switching off, s***ting the bed. They upped their game for 5 minutes and I wasn't at all surprised to see them score. And then once we made all those substitutions, I never thought we'd score again. Embarrassingly bad stuff. 3 home draws against the promoted teams. Absolutely terrible.
  11. Was posted in one of the other threads but for those who missed it. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/man-city-115-charges-verdict-delay-premier-league-b2901819.html# Another year or more. Absolute joke. I don't care how complex the case is. It should not take this long. And the longer it goes on, the longer City can go on benefiting from their decade of cheating. Article hints at people losing interest, worrying about the costs (and again, I think every penny City have spent on lawyers should be treated in the same way as any penny on player wages or transfers).
  12. We look stupid, Man City look as teflon as Trump, and Glasner looks like a dick too.
  13. I don't even know how we got here, but if Dom only knew the painful s***ty path he led us down by doing that stupid thing in that game we won, I bet he'd feel even worse. .
  14. I have no idea what his political views are, and didn't know he believed in conspiracy theories. Am guessing he's right-leaning, likely as many footballers are, particularly those from the Balkans. Most footballers are on the s*** list if we evaluate them by their political beliefs.
  15. Not a fan of Lovren, but he's well above the likes of Diouf, Mignolet, Karius, Dicks, Ruddock, Konchesky, Poulsen...

  19. Really I'm sure that manager would love it if opposition players regularly did stupid s*** like that, as they'd score a lot more goals.
  20. Think the main thing is that in the league, he can't really be playing full back too often, but has looked good further up the pitch.
  21. I wonder if there's a clean sheet bonus for cup games, because if so, he should probably cough that up. I'm just embarrassed for him, and it's a shame, as he scored an amazing goal, and has been our player of the season.
  22. Was my first (and hopefully last) time experiencing those two. F***ing hell. They were almot as bad as the Szoboszlai back heel. Watched on a stream that didn't have the mute button, so I muted my whole computer instead. The chummy chummy act and screaming, and desperately wanting Barnsley to win was nauseating. Quiet Rage: This occurs when a person's mind becomes a "theater of war" in total silence. It is often more damaging than yelling because it shuts down communication and creates deep emotional isolation.
  23. I think it's probably a bad thing that the moment he missed that, the first thing I thought about was your imminent wrath.
  24. I really hope we don't throw this away, and that way we can laugh at it, as it's one of the worst but also one of the funniest, most insanely bad things I've ever seen. I'm embarrassed to even see it again. I think he needs to score 3 more to make up for that.
