  1. 80m is a joke, even in this market. Brighton know we are desperate. I hope the club walks away.
  2. No way are Bayern paying anywhere near what we paid for him.
  3. Fully agreed. Edwards and Hughes have set us back years.
  4. Who is this? Alvarez?
  5. Does this mean that they want both Minteh and Mbaye on top of Barcola? I assumed it was one or the other.
  6. What I don't like about the move for Minteh at this stage of the window is that it reeks of desperation. If we really rated and wanted him, we should have gone for him as soon as it became apparent that Diomande was no go.
  7. But he's the greatest even manager don't you know?
  8. If Brighton are holding out on 70m I hope we walk away.
  9. Chelsea have a very talented and deep squad, a very good manager and no Europe this year. I wouldn't put money on them winning the league, but they should do well, certainly top four.
  10. So, did FSG intentionally lie, or have they never specifically said 30% and no option for 1892 Holdings to get controlling stake? Either way, they deliberately chose not to disclose full details of the agreement, and that stinks as the fans have earned the right to know.
  11. Arsenal’s squad is a level above everyone else. Chelsea also have a deep squad, and no Europe this season. City have a couple of gaps which I am sure they will address before the end of the window. Iraola certainly has his work cut out for him.
  12. Counting on Ekitike for this season is risky. Even when he comes back, it will likely take him months to get back to full fitness. So, realistically, we are looking at a full season with one striker who even if he stays injury free cannot be expected to play 3 games a week.
  13. Barcola, Mbaye, Munoz and Rio is on paper enough wingers, should the first two get done obviously. Problem is, no cover for Isak, which to a certain extent Gakpo does offer.
  14. Plenty of fans weren’t happy with Diaz, selling him substantially weakened the team. I am not Gakpo’s biggest fan, but selling him and not bringing someone else in will again weaken the team.
  15. I don’t think it’s revisionism. One, hopefully he can have a much better season under Iraola, especially as he is likely to have much stronger competition. Two, he can cover Isak, and most here don’t trust the club to bring a replacement in before the window shuts.
  16. I’d be very surprised if Barcola and Mbaye are both not Liverpool players by the end of the month. I would also be very surprised if Jones is here come September. Hopefully we bring in a midfielder to replace him.
  17. Yildiz linked. Not going to happen, obviously.
  18. Conflicting reports on this.
  19. Cannot see what the fuss is with Baleba. I have been wrong before, mind.
  20. I think if a good offer comes in they’ll be happy to sell him.
  21. I like Gusto, not for 75m though.
  22. Edwards has already gone. Hughes by all accounts is leaving at the end of the current transfer window. Mike Gordon has replaced Edwards, reluctantly I expect as he was happy to have Edwards replace him merely 2 years ago. This for me is a worry as I would much rather someone who considers this role as the pinnacle of their career. One of Woodfine or Ward will most likely replace Hughes.
  23. Saw several videos of the welcome he received by the Trabzonspor fans, so I would like to correct myself somewhat. He must feel they really wanted him there, he is going to be absolutely worshipped, rightly so given what he has achieved in his career.
  24. Yeah, I thought he would rather the football than the money at this stage of his career. I guess his football options weren't that good, so he went for the money.
