  1. I haven't done the prerequisite research, but that is a very good and valid point.
  2. He is not our only striker and he is not a kid. With the main striker out injured, it is up to him to step up and lead the attack. That is why we paid so much money for him, and that is why he earns those wages. I understand and accept that there are mitigating circumstances - new league and the team playing badly to name a couple - but he is not an 18-year-old who has just come up from the academy.
  3. Well the evidence is certainly there.
  4. I really fail to understand FSG, Edwards and Hughes. It has been crystal clear for months that Slot is incapable of turning things around, yet they continue to persist with him and make excuses for him.
  5. So should be available for the CL final.
  6. So Edwards and Hughes are going in the summer and we are going to be left with Slot because there is no sporting director to make the call? Brilliant way to run one of the biggest football clubs in the world, that it.
  7. I think we were linked with Archie Grey the summer he moved to Spurs. He is going to be a top player, get him in.
  8. Wirtz and Isak. Wirtz the creativity, Isak the goals.
  9. Seriously, what are they waiting for? It has been painfully obvious for quite a while that Slot is not turning this around. You've got Alonso seating at home, waiting for a call.
  10. I gave a lot of credit to Slot last season for coming in and winning the league, but I am now convinced that momentum from the Klopp era carried us to the title (yes, with a little help from Slot). I am also quickly coming around to the realisation that Michael Edwards isn't the genius a lot of people (myself included) made him out to be, and here too it was Klopp's brilliance that carried him.
  11. That really is poor from Indy. Must be short on clicks lately.
  12. It would definitely be a wild and exciting ride if that was to happen.
  13. In years gone by a winner in the last seconds of a game and I'd bring the house down screaming in joy. Yesterday I just smiled to myself and thought ah nice one. The performance was well below anything we should expect from a Liverpool team. No passion, no fluency, no apparent plan. And it has been like that all season, and even going back to the latter stages of last season. I can just about understand FSG keeping Slot on until the summer, but if he is still here come first day of pre-season then something is seriously wrong with their judgement.
  14. I read somewhere that Edwards wanted Bruno, Klopp wanted Diaz, and we only had the funds for one that January.
  15. This is on point. Losing pace is understandable, shots that he used to comfortably hit on target now flying way over the goal is very baffling.
  16. Agree that we should be looking to replace him. Disagree that top four should have been minimum requirement. We started the season as favourites for the league, and we should have been challenging, especially with Man City not back to their previous best. Granted there are mitigating circumstances - Jota's passing and notable changes within the squad - but we still should be much closer to Arsenal than we currently are.
  17. Good to see that players have started to acknowledge the absolute mad house that is the Chelsea turn-over of players.
  18. Not necessarily. It is totally feasible that we win the CL and at the same time continue not to impress in the league.
  19. If we win the CL then he is obviously staying, but it will still be hard to forget the 9 losses out of 12, and, more pertinently, his apparent inability to turn things around.
  20. Very odd we are willing to let Andy go, especially considering, one, how short we are at the back, and two, him being one of the main leaders in the squad. I'll be very sad to see him go.
  21. They should bin him off now, get Alonso boxed off for the summer, and get an interim in until then.
  22. Agreed. I don't think Slot is turning things around, so I'll probably be happy with Nagelsmann and to a lesser extent Tuchel as well, but there is no doubt that Klopp, Alonso and Enrique are by far the best candidates.
  23. Amorim sacked. They'll probably bring in Glasner.
  24. He is not turning things around and consequently has to go. If there is no outstanding candidate available at the moment (and FWIW I don't think there is), then I can understand the logic in keeping him around until the summer, especially as the league is so poor and top 4 (or 5) is realistically achievable. But work needs to be done on his replacement, and he has to go in the summer.
