Don't want to go to the Arkles, are there any other pubs that would be ok with some away fans coming in? Cheers

Is this single tier kop a defo? It f*ckin needs it. I think it looks a bit dated which is understandable as it was designed about 6-7 years ago. It needs changing imo

From the Beeb: Liverpool have confirmed exclusive talks are taking place with Dubai International Capital (DIC) about a possible takeover of the club. DIC, the investment arm of Dubai's government, is thought to be nearing a buy-out of the club worth £450m. Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry said: "This is the latest step on the road of finding the long-term investment that the club needs." DIC chief executive Sameer al-Ansari said: "We hope we can agree a deal." Al-Ansari, whose firm has begun to examine the club accounts, added: "Liverpool's investment requirements are well publicised. "Hopefully this will provide us with the opportunity to fund its needs both on and off the pitch." The proposed deal is expected to include £200m to build a new 60,000-capacity stadium. Parry added: "This is very important in terms of the proposed new stadium, which is key to plans for the regeneration of the local community. "On the pitch, Liverpool remains focused on winning and, here again, this is all about doing a deal that gives us the long-term resources to do that." The due diligence process has begun, giving DIC exclusive rights to study the accounts of Liverpool with a view to finalising a deal. Liverpool chairman David Moores and chief executive Rick Parry stayed behind in Liverpool while the team flew to Istanbul for Tuesday's Champions League match against Galatasaray. However, the deal is not expected to be concluded until the new year. DIC owns the Madame Tussauds Group and the Travelodge hotel chain as well as one third of the London Eye. The company is an investment arm of Dubai Holding, which is owned by Dubai Crown Prince and United Arab Emirates Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sheikh Mohammed, whose family is internationally renowned for its running of the Godolphin horse racing stables, is the world's fifth richest man. Liverpool have been linked with other takeover bids in recent years. In 2005, American billionaire Robert Kraft - owner of the New England Patriots NFL team - was linked with a bid for the club. And in 2004 Thaksin Shinawatra, then Prime Minister of Thailand, made a high-profile bid to take control of the club. The takeover news will concern those worried about the number of Premiership clubs currently in the hands of foreign owners. Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Portsmouth and Aston Villa have all gone through high-profile takeovers by foreign owners in recent years.

Apparently the Daily Post is running a story about how he was speaking at a business dinner last night about his coverage of Hillsborough. Basically didn't regret it then , doesn't regret it now. C*nt.

I agree. I think he should be playing in Alonso's position and vice versa, but who am i to question Rafa.
-
Sissoko is 21 and still learning the game, with time to develop, but has already shown to be virtually irreplaceable in the team. Do you see Makelele opening up defences? Scoring goals? No, but i bet he'd fit your crtiteria. Did you say the same about Hamann? I've never known Alonso to go missing - quite the opposite. He's not a bottler, which is what you imply. In the big games this season, particularly away to Arsenal and Man Utd, he's been the only one who's shown any composure on the ball and battled for the team. He always makes himself available and rarely gives it away. Despite his shaky start to our season along with the rest of them, he came through his before he got injured. You're talking sh*te mate. He's not able to influence the team further up the field because of the shackles put on him by Rafa which is another subject.
-
Dear God. Comments about Alonso and Sissoko particularly perplexing

Can't think of any we deserved to win. Not one.
-
Why were you saying we could still win the league on Monday then?
-
Rumours at the ground are worse than they are on here
-
If only. Chelsea would never sell cheap to us the c*nts. In hindsight we should have saved the money spent on Pennant and together with CL qualification money from this season made a decent bid for SWP. It will be criminal if he goes to West Ham or City.
-
Punching above their weight, in recent poor form, with an injury list worse than ours
-
Is it any real surprise though? The last few home games we've flattered to deceive until we've made a breakthrough. City and Bordeaux. Our sh*te form away from home has crept into our home games. As someone has already said we've not put in a totally commanding display all season. Its a scrap for 4th from now until the end of the season. Does anybody still believe we can win the title
-
Once again people getting carried away with a scrappy win at home against a team with the worst away record in the league. Its clear that this is another season of transition - there's no way we're good enough to win the league. People are saying we need to get points of the other big teams at Anfield, but what on earth suggests we will? Our record against them is dreadful and shows no signs of improving this year even if we are at Anfield. Our away form is woeful and thats against anyone in the league not just the top teams. Talk of the title is embarrassing, we're not even in the top 4 yet and are 14 points adrift of the top 2 who show absolutely no signs of weakness. I'm not saying we'll never win the league in the near future but lets concentrate on winning our first away game on Saturday before anything else (apart from Pompey!)

F*ckin hell my stream is about 4 mins behind! Get in!

City growing in confidence and looking the more likely to score. This is sh*te.

Injuries don't sound that bad Rafael Benitez admitted his joy at seeing Liverpool beat PSV Eindhoven and top Group C was tempered by the injury problems that saw Xabi Alonso, Mark Gonzalez and Jermaine Pennant all forced to leave the field. Out of the three players Gonzalez is the most serious with a torn hamstring. "We are really pleased with the victory and it is good for the supporters and the club but unfortunately we have some injuries with Mark Gonzalez the more serious," commented Benitez. "Gonzalez will be out for at least two weeks with his hamstring which is a blow for us. Xabi has a dead leg and Pennant has spasms in his hamstring so we will have to see how he is. "When you lose two players in the first half it makes it more difficult and we had Bolo Zenden and Luis Garcia who wasn't 100 per cent fit. "Gerrard played well and it was good for us to see him running forward and scoring goals."
-
Xabi is on crutches for a bad ankle injury. Rafa reckons he's out for a while
-
Would have been a bit odd if he did. Point is its quite a damning statement to make and something you don't often here despite the run we are in. Suggests lack of belief rather than just frustration.
-
Erm i doubt it. I'm sure his contract will have covered stress related illnesses and the like. Maybe he could get a doctors note?

Xabi Alonso believes the doom and gloom engulfing Liverpool has already all but scuppered their hopes of competing for the Premiership title. Another below par performance from The Reds in a goalless draw at Middlesbrough on Saturday evening means the team trail leaders Manchester United by 16 points after just 13 matches. A run of just two points from 21 available away from home has left their title hopes hanging by a thread. Alonso admits he would be able to see a light at the end of the tunnel, were it not for the negativity pervading the Anfield dressing room. "The fight for the title is getting more and more difficult for us," said Alonso. "Not just because of the points difference but because of the atmosphere I see at the club. "I see pessimism and in that respect it is going to be very hard to come back. "We can't put three straight wins together and are unable to transmit the spirit of Europe to league games. "I don't know if it is something psychological but we are very annoyed" Doesn't sound good

I'm sorry but it is a perfectly valid excuse to be playing sh*te, of course it is. Have you never had anything worrying on your mind at work that affects your concentration levels? He's only human. However, it doesn't excuse his attitude as captain which has been poor imo lately. Ill discipline and berating team-mates who are clearly low on confidence early in games is not the way to go about it when he's as guilty as them for stray passess etc. IF there are problems at home the only answer is to give him some time off because at the moment he looks like he's carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders (again) and that is to the detriment of the team.
