  1. I honestly believe Momo is already way ahead of where Vieira was at the same age. Also, I get fed up with the media ranting about Makalele too. Momo is much more effective IMO. I've never changed my opinion so greatly and so quickly as much as I have with Momo. He's been one of the most impactful LFC signings in years.
  2. Don't make them like they used to. '84 & '85 LFC team was just awesome. Luton kit in 1984 was great. Interesting to see just how many kits were adidas actually. I like the fact you can search the site for players with beards. There should be more beards in football.
  3. I would like us to sign an injury free up and coming star that hasn't got a reputation for being 'great' 3-4 years ago. Someone new and fresh please. It's time for someone to earn a 'great' reputation with us.
  4. That was my first thought to be honest. I don't think there'll be a re-trial. I think they know it wasn't him and will set him free. Just want to make sure in their own minds they're doing the right thing. I realise it's complete speculation, but here's hoping this is what happens. YNWA
  5. I think it's worth noting that watching a game down south costs a fricking fortune. Those that can afford to go are probably the least likely to sing anyway. Spurs and Chelsea are both ridiculously expensive. I guess the further north you go the more working class the main ST holders become too. There's definitely a difference whichever way you look at it. Quite strong cultural differences too.
  6. My feelings about this possible deal are the same as when Crouch was first mentioned. I'm amazed, angry, curious and excited all at once.
  7. Without question. Over rated and over aged.
  8. Every great team has someone like Sissoko breaking up attacks. In recent years we were always better when Hamann was playing. Missed him greatly when not. Chelsea and Madrid have used Makalele successfully. Keane, Vieira, etc etc. Gerrard and Alonso don't play that game, their strengths are elsewhere. More and more we'll see Sissoko and Alonso in the middle, playing a 4-2-3-1 i reckon. Rafa seems to like this formation, just need some speed out wide.

  12. I realise I'm not speaking for everyone and the fact that Owen has scored so many important goals does make me look somewhat silly. But, I stand by it. He misses too many chances, and as others have stated has too many empty spells, not to mention his injuries. As Hoddle once said, 'he's not a natural finisher'. (not the best man to quote I realise) His positional sense and speed (early part of his career) has been the reason why he has been so successful. He is one of the best at being in the right place at the right time. That I can't argue with and it's the reason he has scored so many. That's not to say he can't finish, i just don't think he is a 'world class' finisher, hence the empty spells. Would he score goals if he came back? Absolutely. Scoring 100 LFC goals in 134 games is an amazing record. (stats from earlier post) But it's the other 120 odd games when he didn't score that concerns me. For someone that is capable of scoring 100 in 134, how come he didn't score at all in over 120 others? Of course, there are many reasons for that no doubt, of which I believe his finishing was in some part to blame. Who knows. Maybe he will come back maybe he won't. However, Liverpool didn't stop him leaving. Madrid didn't keep him. Only Newcastle bothered to make real efforts to get him back. I reckon he's stuck at Newcastle now. That, to me, says it all. There will be better options in the summer I'm sure.

  14. Apologies. Still not sure it was him - I need to check. He was using a local caddy for 'course knowledge'. Not sure what forced that to be the case though. Happened quite a bit back in the day. Even now some pro's will opt for someone local with excellent course knowledge, particularly in the British Open's when you need to know every detail on every fairway and green.
  15. So be it. I stand by it. In a league game it's still only three points, whether or not he scores 1 for a win or 10 for a win. I'm sure if you could get the stats which counted how many games he scored in with a ratio for the number of goals it would look amazing. No doubt. I personally prefer to see a striker spread the goals around. As I said above, scoring 1 every other game rather than popping up with a hat-trick now and again, particularly in the league. ps. He doesn't play for us and sold us down the road. Get over it.
  16. Another golf tale. Think it might have been Travino? Says to his caddy (on a course in Britain he'd never played during a practice round), "how far to the hole" Caddy: It's a 7 - iron Travino: I don't want to know what club, I asked how far to the hole Caddy: Trust me, it's a 7 - iron Travino: Give me the 7 iron (sticks ball on the green. Just as caddy picks up the bag Travino stops him). Travino: give me another ball, and the 5 iron (sticks ball on the green) Travino: give me another ball and the 5 wood (sticks ball on the green) Travino: give me a 3 iron and another ball (sticks ball on the green) Travino: Next time I ask how far it is to the hole, tell me how far it is to the hole!
  17. I'm more concerned about how many Owen misses, and the fact that he'll go ages without scoring, then score 2 or 3 in one game. Much rather he spread his goals around in different games, i.e. was consistent all season. (1 goal every other game rather than a hat-trick one in six games)
  18. Are you suggesting fielding more than 11 players? You're right though.
  19. Eh? That's kinda the point, isn't it? The Worlds Greatest Manager TM isn't wanted by Madrid. I'm quite sure that he would have at least liked to have been considered.
  20. No mention of Slur Alex. That makes me smile, a lot...

I can't wait. Tihs is waht supoprnitg LIVERPOOL FC is all aoubt
  23. Owen is not the man to score a goal every other game all season. He only ever plays for half of it. Move on.

    Fowler

Utter crap. Statements like that are just plain pathetic. Do you not think Rafa would have pulled him off if this was the case? He was just as lively as any other LFC player on the pitch. Midfield was poor on Saturday so he was coming deep too often. When teams sit deep, the midfield needs to be smarter. IMO, we are not scoring because the midfield isn't creating clear cut chances and is not showing enough patience. Everything was at 100 mph on Saturday. This is not the fault of Fowler, Crouch, Nando or Titi... one of which put his first clear cut chance in the back of the net.
  25. Just seen this on the offal too. Well done boys and girls - looks ace!!!
