  1. What's that got to do with the price of fish?

  3. Exactly. Wouldn't surprise me if you, or your 'alias', was in the starting 11. As for Crouchy. I can see him not starting with Crouch for no other reason than to keep his feet on the ground as well. I'd love Fowler to play for sentimental reasons, but using my head, I'd like to see Bellamy and Kuyt let loose together, with Fowler used as sub later. At least that way Fowler's arrival will be more centre of attention, which will of course pi55 the Blues**** off even more. Especially if we're 4-0 up already
  4. I am in no doubt whatsoever that the team selection by Rafa for all three games (and the rest of the season to be honest) will completely fox me. Don't think I've ever picked the same team as Rafa to be honest. I'm sure it's not just me either. Nobody throws more curve balls than our Rafa. Community Shield for example. Out of nowhere that starting 11. Genius.

  7. I think that's right too. I've no doubt that more locals would go, but also, speaking as an OOTER, i'd agree even more. I'd love to make the long trip to the ground to watch them play regularly, but I don't even try these days, as there's just no way of successfully and consistently getting tickets, particularly with our ticket office. Should they get it right, I'm sure a BIG increase in capacity would increase my chances of success, therefore change my mindset and make me persist.

  9. Crouch is currently the best striker at Liverpool and in the England side. End of. Will he play all games for both teams? Who knows. Will Kuyt turn out to be better? What about Bellamy? Who knows. Right here, right now, Crouch is the best. Too many perfectionists are trying to find faults. So what if he's skinny. So what if his heading isn't like Shearer's. Fact is nobody holds the ball up, sets up others and scores his fair share of goals better than Crouch right now, for Liverpool or England. Long may it continue.
  10. Crouch That's why I said 'subs from' really. It's a given we need a keeper, not sure who the other four should be really. I think Rafa's got a real headache with team choice and subs this season, particularly when Kewell is back too.
  11. For me, away from home, our strongest team when fit I think will most likely be; Pepe Finnan, Sami, Carra, Riise Gerrard, Alonso, Momo, Aurelio Kuyt, Bellamy Subs from: Pennant, Gonzalez, Fowler, Crouch, Agger, Garcia With the injuries we have, it may have to be Pepe Finnan, Sami, Agger, Aurelio Garcia, Gerrard, Alonso, Zenden Kuyt or Bellamy with Crouch We'll be weaker in midfield physically, so the get out ball of Crouch would become more important I think.
  12. That goal

  14. This is the first time in years that I feel we are defending from the front, at pace. The work rate of the likes of Bellamy, Kuyt, even players like Gonzalez and Pennant is superb. Gonzalez in particular is excellent at winning the ball back if he makes a mistake. He never gives up. It's been a long time in my eyes since we played this way, and having the pace in the team is an obvious reason for it happening now, but long may it continue. It makes such a difference. I've always felt that we struggle when teams put us under pressure with their attackers when we've got the ball in defence. It's great to see us doing the same now. It will take a lot of pressure of the back four and Alonso/Momo. Having said that, I thought Gerrard's running up top left Alonso exposed a bit too much against West Ham. Need to find the right balance there.
  15. Good point AE. I miss Didi, and Vladi for that matter. Looking forward to Kuyt's fight and desire on the pitch though, starting this weekend hopefully
  16. From what i've seen, he; - Works hard - Shoots early (first time) - Finds the corners with his shots - Is strong - Takes good penalties - Has great relations with the fans - shows his desire well on the pitch (This is based on a 4 minute blast on YouTube )
  17. Careful CarraLegend. You're stepping on dodgy ground with that one, as I found out when questioning whether Zidane could have been arrested, particularly when you consider a fan doing the same thing outside the ground. Have to say, the reaction to this challenge just proves peoples' bias towards players. If you're a world class legend you must have been provoked, if you're Ben Thatcher, you're an animal and should be jailed. ( I actually agree with the latter on this occasion though )
  18. That whole campaign was full of heart attack moments. It was brilliant When we were down, we were great, and there were many times when we were really up against it.
  19. The harder the better for me, in more ways than one..... I think we play much better when we're up against it. I want... Lyon Werder Bremen Dinamo Kiev
  20. Thought Pennant last night was the closest we've ever got to replacing John Barnes, in more ways than one. You can't beat having a real classy winger. It makes a huge difference.
  21. I know I'm not convinced by him, that's fo sho. We'll see I guess
  22. I agree with you on this. Should have lpayed them or not bought them at all. Houllier new they were special and had one opportunity to buy them before someone else did. He just didn't have a space in his team for them straight away, so immediately their development stopped. I think they would have made it personally, had they played.
  23. European Cup Winner with Liverpool FC. Fair play Djimi lad - more than most of us will achieve!! (If he stays then I take it back and he's rubbish)
  24. Heskey. He could have been ten times the player he was. Speedie. Still don't understand how he played for us. Burrows. Just plain ugly. Walters. Everywhere Souness went Mark Walters went..... Owen. Loved him and hated him in equal portions.
