More reassuring and puts a better perspective on it but there have nevertheless been a couple of high profile deals that we have baulked at, Alves and Simao for example are one's I'm aware of and in a way Owen too, though that would have been daylight robbery had it ever materialised. I'm not trying to be the harbinger of doom, this summers transfers have actually for the first time really given us the 'options' Benitez has so often referred to and once we get the balance right we will be a significant threat to Chelsea, but I'm not so happy with progress off field. The preparatory work done becomes a side issue if we are not getting anywhere with the meat of it , progress with one doesnt necessarily mean progress with the other. Matters, at least as far as funding is concerned will now come to a head one way or another, then its down to how well the club manages the build if it ever comes to that. Bringing it back to the original topic, it might become too much to expect fresh investment coming in with these significant hurdles still left unless of course the nature of that investment is total and control of the club is handed over. I don't see that coming and don't see it as a problem provided the new stadium goes ahead and the build is managed well.
