I'd love to believe that but there has been a certain degree of downscaling expectations from our owners in recent days To be honest the answer I'd go for is probably Bent and concentrate on improving our attacking midfield options. Gonzalez and Pennant are not the solution, not a Giggs or Ronaldo and thats going to be the mark No good getting the most expensive table leg on the market if it doesn't suit the rest of the table or fit the use the owner wants it for
-
The ref was okay, no real grumbles there apart from perhaps the Mascherano booking. I'm really dissappointed but looking forward to next season. This competition is ours and for what its worth, congratulations to Milan, not really worthy winners but they were sporting enough to clap our players off the pitch, good respect

He should come to the city in person and apologise, just like Boris

Not quite sure where you're coming from on this one - never mentioned Sissoko at all

Talk about the blind leading the blind Harry plays one game after a spell of injury lasting months and all of a sudden he's a shoe in for one of the most important games in our season against a team of Milans calibre Have we forgotten about Ferguson's calmitous mistake in bringing Vidic back to face Milan too early? Players coming back from injury very offten perform well in the first game because they are running on adrenalin, thats not an expert view thats purely observation. Charlton are no Milan and a nothing game on Sunday will not be comparable with the game in Athens yet so many have already made their decision here Kewell has no match fitness to speak of, frankly would be a complete risk if played given what Milan have in midfield and is not a better option than Zenden under the present circumstance Absolute bloody madness What I will say is how utterley impressed I am at his ability to synchronize his fitmess in time for finals - incidentally what exactly was wrong with him Queue backlash
-
I think Zenden's role in the side is far more beneficial to the way we function in midfield than Mr Kewell's, at least that is from my dim and distant recollection of the aussie's previous contribution to the team I can only assume that the passage of time and Kewell's absence on the pitch has dulled some fellow forum members appreciation of Harrys unique contribution whilst wearing the red shirt In short, not a big fan

Thats a bit severe, I call it having a sense of humour. Actually I'd rather have a beer with Christian than with some LFC celebs i could mention.....Tarbuck being one
-
I love Terry Christian he is such a wind up merchant and to be perfectly honest if you let people like him wind you up you basically deserve it. He's sharp and quick witted and its a good show, well i like it anyhow, the only thing worth listening to on that particular station Brazil on the other hand is unquestionably the lousiest presenter on radio and overall total git. Durham (sp) and Parry not being too far behind him

Though it is marginal, admittedly, the feud with utd has gone on for so long its hard to whip myself up into a frenzy about it anymore....... where as Chelsea are fresh blood
-
Valdano make his point colourfully but is wrong, far from football becoming more physical, the laws of the game are turning slowly into the exact opposite If Liverpool and Chelsea are ruining a spectacle then bring it on. I'd rather go and see two teams clash in a physical battle of wits and athletic prowess, then a bunch of feigning nonces falling about artistically, waving imaginary red cards and performing step overs to the dozen. Valdano should take a good look at the damage being done to the game by FiFa's law makers before pointing the finger at Benitez and Mourinho

No I expected a genuine push for the title this season and I'm really gutted that we are such a long way adrift from the top two but.....I would say that we are finally a lot closer to the finished product than our current league standing suggests. and fecking rotation - thats my only bugbear with the boss
-
Nothing wrong with England fans in the main Some good some bad some indifferent There seems to be this idea that if you follow your national side your betraying Liverpool , weird especially as the one lad who bleeds scouse openly admits that he'd play anywhere to get into an England team - i'm talking jamie here by the way Time to get off that high f***ing horse and wind yer neck in I'd say

Welshmen use golf clubs (allegedly) -
Chelsea at 3 to 1 do me a favour - ridiculous odds United have been winging it for too long - wouldn't be too confident of them progressing certainly not on odds of 3 to 1 Its got to be a repeat of the 2005 final
-
I dont think the likes of Carla Lane or Alan Bleasdale have exactly helped our corner in the manner in which we are perceived or Phil Redmond for that matter Talented though they are
-
There are positives you could consider We're starting to use the width of the pitch and the squad itself is stronger than last year but ask yourself the question, has the constant rotation of our squad reaped any benefits. I'd say no, not on the evidence of our performances and the performances of our main rivals this end of the season. Our players are no fresher than United's If I had any wish it would be that we would downscale the rotation policy I just don't feel that it has given us the edge to justify the disruption But I doubt if Benitez will change and I have to live with that. Ijust would like to see how a settled side would cope over half a season maybe

There are people in this world who are really so bitter and twisted that it defies belief. Dont understand it, never will, just know it happens. Presumably its done to offend so if you react then your letting them win Action done was best thing why publicize it

Stuart Downing would fit the bill for the left if we could prise him away from boro Quite also fancy Doyle from Reading in a strikers role Leg that fits the table an all that
