  1. Good but still not consistent enough to lift the title

    Ferguson

Face it Ferguson is a top bloke, appreciates what the game is about and what it means to the fans which is why he shows his appreciation to the Kop unlike the w***** moaniho and his shush guesture.
  3. To be completely boring I'd say it most likely to be a draw. Unless of course we score more than them in which case I predict a win for us. Other than that we might of course lose if we cant score and they do There you go.... the mockers now well and truly banjaxed feel free to continue with the predictions
  4. ''Reclaim The Cup'' - i say
  5. I agree, good to hear its not serious. There is a side to fanaticism that leaves me cold

    Gerrard

No way could I condone diving. I know it goes on, I know they usually get away with it, I know the temptation must be to play the same game but it just makes me feel that we're cheap when I see it especially against the nomark sides like the blades Personally I'd like this sort of thing reviewed by a panel and retrospective action taken where diving has occurred or 'simulated' Immediate 3 game ban maybe even points deducted for teams with serial divers. Probably not practical but its the way I feel
  7. Bellamy Loose canon and definitive liability Got one of the most punchable faces in the Premiership if you can set aside Cristabelle Ronaldo that is
  8. To be quite honest Parry has really bombed in my estimation over this, whatever comes out of it good or bad, its not been handled well and confusion and procrastination seems to have dogged a number of high profile dealings during his tenure. It can't be all down to circumstances surely
  9. First there was Thaksin Shinawatra and then another Thai consortium, then there was L4 out of which spawned interest from The Krafts, Ste Morgan has had numerous bites as have a couple of other minor players including a guy from Spain and some other English bloke based in Switzerland finally DIC and now maybe Gillett or then again perhaps not Not exactly impressive way of finding investment is it
  10. He's a very talented perceptive and shrewd manager who pays attention to everything in meticulous detail. He thinks systems not personalities and conducts himself in a most professional manner. He has his own ways which you have to accept as part of the package and never complains about the financial restrictions which must frustrate him at times. He's no messiah but anyone who thinks that they could name a successor who would bring more success to the club are kidding themselves. I hope he serves out and then he extends his contract , I for one appreciate what he is doing here but its not a smooth ride
  11. what paranoid drivel as opposed to falling for the moneymens pr bulls*** i suppose basically we are now a commodity to be traded and milked as may be appropriate of course the relationship may well turn out to be mutually beneficial but that depends on alot of things doesnt it
  12. What a f**king farce this is turning into A great club being prostituted around by shady third party spivs like we are some tired old desperate tart in need of cash I was prepared to believe that some of the earlier rubbish was fostered by a rogue journo with an alterior motive but these revelations are beginning to make me uncomfortable and they are beginning to get persistent One thing that does make me want to chuck - its quite clear to me that once we've been sold out of the family we are in the hands of people who have very different perceptions of this club than we have with or without the pr bulls*** we've been fed
  13. Morgans biggest problem is that of being a realist .......... unlike some of the ''cognescenti''
  14. f*** LuCAs NeILl SiGN bRaZIL!
  15. Dont you know this club, the city and its people are a national treasure to be loved and cherished and protected from the heathen horde God bless the press
  16. Correct me if i.m wrong but the plans were granted on the understanding that it would be a 60000 seater - i believe to build more would require us to move out of the area
  17. Your not alone - but its had to happen I realise that Its great news in a way but we will be seen as the new Chelsea by others if what happens happens
  18. Couldn't second guess the manager, but I believe that he would have been very happy to work with Heskey. I always get the impression for Benitez that he prefers unassuming players who have a decent workrate as opposed to 'star quality' but thats probably way off beam and more because of the finances of the clubs he has managed than because of the professional challenge Personally I'd prefer Heskey to Crouch........ although he did have a really crap touch for such a big man
  19. MacKenzie gets enjoyment from other people's pain, he will also enjoy the notoriety he seeks from this latest outburst. ''Facing down'' the backlash from the city is what he wants in his own testosterone driven world. Better then just to ignore him rather than whip up a storm which frankly wont affect him at all as said above he is a c*** but then again I suspect he knows it and in his own sad and perverted way he probably see's it as a compliment I lost no one at Hillsborough but I saw the aftermath and felt the wound I wouldn't dare to preach to those who were there or who lost their loved ones on that day but I would like now to be able to move on and leave the bitterness even towards this git behind - justice will prevail eventually My apologies if I upset anyone over this
  20. We are 7th, we have all but conceded the title 3 months into the campaign and the manager has admitted we are in a fight for the remaining champions league places that alone tells a story and I feel very uncomfortable with that I'm not going to point fingers or carry out post mortems because there still is much to win out of this season and much about the team to have some hope for the future but those who think we can afford to cut some slack because of what happened in Istanbul should take a look at Villa or Forest. For Liverpool, for me, the gap at the top is extremely painful and the responsibility for that ultimately rests with Benitez. I personally believe that he is the best manager around but he is not flawless and he needs to find solutions. For a team that won the Champions League 18 months ago beating Europes finest there is a puzzling fragility and lack of self belief. Its not about depth of squad quality or balance this time I think whats held us back is form injury and psychology none helped by rotation
  21. a strike partner for dirk the type that scores goals this time if you please
  22. Absolutely nothing wrong with this article at all, reasonably balanced in fact. I dont agree with the last line but thats about it. The writer doesn't throw out Rafa's rotation policy, he observes that we cant recruit the same level of players that United or Chelsea can, he acknowledges that we've had a tough sequence of games but admits that we could still and are capable of putting in a run which could turn things around yet and he points to Gerrards recent loss of form as being a contributory factor to our performance todate - where is this out of step with what we all accept as being true. The fact is, Rafa's success at Anfield has upped our general level of expectation and our aim is the premiership title yet we currently languish mid table. We won't finish mid table but for the moment we are looking at 3rd or 4th realistically this season. We've hit a plateau and now is the time for Benitez to show his real qualities I'm happy with the squad its stronger than last season and better balanced, I'm comfortable with the fact that we will kick on and the direction is right, but this knee jerk aggression towards anyone who dares to offer constructive criticism about our season and the problems we genuinely have to contend with at the moment wont help at all We all can learn, but we have to be prepared to listen to everyones opinion whether its critical or not.
  23. You could possibly be correct about Dubai Holdings and I would hope so if this company were ever to pursue their interest but it appears that some people are not so enamoured with the way business is carried out in the Emirates (yes my geography is and always was crap) as this article indicates by mike davis of commondreams.org - in defence of your arguement its not specific to Dubai Holdings but they are big players in the development of the infrastructure in that area and is uncomfortably close ''Dubai, like its neighbors, flouts ILO labor regulations and refuses to adopt the international Migrant Workers Convention. Human Rights Watch in 2003 accused the Emirates of building prosperity on "forced labor." Indeed, as the British Independent recently emphasized in an exposé on Dubai, "The labour market closely resembles the old indentured labour system brought to Dubai by its former colonial master, the British." "Like their impoverished forefathers," the paper continued, "today's Asian workers are forced to sign themselves into virtual slavery for years when they arrive in the United Arab Emirates. Their rights disappear at the airport where recruitment agents confiscate their passports and visas to control them" In addition to being super-exploited, Dubai's helots are also expected to be generally invisible. The bleak work camps on the city's outskirts, where laborers are crowded six, eight, even twelve to a room, are not part of the official tourist image of a city of luxury without slums or poverty. In a recent visit, even the United Arab Emirate's Minister of Labor was reported to be profoundly shocked by the squalid, almost unbearable conditions in a remote work camp maintained by a large construction contractor. Yet when the laborers attempted to form a union to win back pay and improve living conditions, they were promptly arrested. '' I dont like bringing politics into the fray but if Morgan's business dealings are to be queried as has been done on this forum I think we should appreciate ther general ethic embued in the culture of our friends from the Middle East .........wherever that is
  24. Youve got to back the manager Rotation is an issue, but not something for poorly performing players to hide behind, I'd prefer him to play our strongest side everytime but I accept he wont change and of all the staff on the books he is the one we couldnt afford to lose
  25. Funny that because if pushed I'd see it the other way about though I can't say I'm overwhelmed by the prospect of either. You and a few others do a very good hatchet job on Morgan and the bugger probably deserves much of it, but on instinct I tend to get concerned when rational arguement is chucked out the window. Morgan is a businessman not averse to making enemies along the way but thats the nature of the beast isnt it and its a complete assumption that he'd run LFC like he'd run the redrow business, so with all due respect I'll sideline reddragons concern. So what of the dubai businessmen, do we really know anything about them apart from your gut feelings, choosing one because you have a hatred of another isnt a convincing arguement. One thing about Morgan is he's tried to takeover the club for many years, its obviously an ambition which drives him and in that way, maybe it demonstates his passion for it. Will it be the same with the krafts or our associates in dubai are they likely to understand what drives us. If we can be sold once we can be sold again and who would an organisation solely interested in business sell us onto It seems easy to knock holes in Morgan, he has expressed a one time desire for ground share and he's not had the easiest of relationships with Moores over the years but these are businessmans instincts and habits. Quite why you believe the saudi's wouldn't consider or cover similar ground once they own us I cant understand. For all his faults I think we have more chance of convincing Morgan of whats better for the club than a bunch of absentee landlords I wouldn't say my opinion is sound at the best of times, I did originally back Curbishley after Houllier went, but what irritates me and probably affects my judgement is what I see as a concerted and disproportionate demonisation of one of the parties interested in investing in the club especially as I see problems with the alternatives My opinion will affect nothing and what will be will be but I must asy it makes me appreciate Moores even more
