  1. Ilori ahead of Lovren, for me.
  2. We don't though. We just need to pick Sakho and not Lovren.
  3. "The game is finished and I have forgotten about it already. What can I do?” he said. “The first minute after the second goal I wanted to go under the table, but in these moments you need to keep your head up. I tried everything but it was a bad decision. Mistakes happen. “Things like that happen but I don’t think it will shake myself and the team. “I am the first one disappointed with myself but now we have to go away with the national teams and in two weeks we have Manchester United. “We need to now keep our heads up in the tough moments but you see other clubs losing at home and we wish we could have taken 10 points from the four games but we didn’t. “We need to forget this and I know we will be better. We need to do it because of us and the fans. We didn’t deserve this.”
  4. Yep, I would too.
  5. cant fault his attitude but he can't defend an argument. Much as its doom and gloom after Saturday and losing to the Mancs would be unthinkable, this will be a much different game. Mancs at home, won't park the bus like West Ham did, so we'll have much more space in their third and shouldn't struggle to break them down. Missing Coutinho won't help, mind.
  6. 4231 with protection for the back four and wide players who will get up & down and work hard. Mignolet Clyne Skrtel Sakho Gomez Henderson Lucas Milner Firmino Moreno Benteke Can instead of Henderson if the latter is still injured. Defend as a 5 when they're pushing forward, get Milner & Moreno high up the park when we're going forward, with Henderson/Can breaking as well to get numbers in advanced areas.
  7. Have to say, if Lovren walks out as part of the starting XI at Old Trafford in just under a fortnight, any faith that I have left in Rodgers will be gone completely.
  8. He wouldn't have been anyway.
  9. Today was absolutely awful and nothing undoes that. If the Mancs get beat tomorrow though at Swansea, we'll have gotten away with it somewhat this weekend. But it's still 3 points we should've had and didn't get, so in order to redress the balance and put us back on track, we need to go to Old Trafford and win.
  10. Spurs get Monaco
  11. So why could we get Bordeaux but not St Etienne?
  12. Why did St Etienne go into Group G and not with us in B?
  13. Watch us get Monaco....
  14. He'd need to be registered by midday today. Unless he's already signed, that would seem unlikely.
  15. Markovic off to Fenerbahce on loan.
  16. Crazy to think that on the day we won our 5th European Cup, Barcelona only had 1. Ten years later, they've matched us. 4 wins in 10 years is amazing. Not as amazing as our 4 wins in 8 years, mind...
  17. Don't know why, but neither he nor Gomz have taken part in any training sessions for this game. Benteke was still in London today, no idea why. Sorry, yeah Moreno at LB. Ok maybe scratch that, Benteke has just tweeted in the last quarter of an hour that he's looking forward to the game, so false alarm it seems, apologies. Still don't know why he's been in London and not trained since the Arsenal game.
  18. Don't think Benteke or Gomez are playing. I suspect it's this: Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Can, Lucas, Milner, Coutinho, Firmino, Ings
  19. Because they've been regularly qualifying for Europe and have consistently advanced through the Europa League, amassing coefficient points. And we haven't. Not agreeing or disagreeing, but that's exactly why our European coefficient score is so sh*t.
  20. I can appreciate that if he does have some kind of disorder of this sort, then that mitigates some of his antics. At the same time though, I can't consider him entirely blameless for simply not trying. He has to be accountable for some of it.
  21. Not saying we will do this, or that we should - but if we went to Old Trafford with that same system & mentality, there's not a chance in hell that they'd be able to open us up & create chances. Unless the ref steps in and gives them a pen, or we mess up defending a set piece, I couldn't see them scoring against us. That's another thing Chelsea also do. It reeled in a load of their fans until it emerged that it was the club themselves who had got the banners made & put out, not the fans.
  22. Home to Carlisle Some of the other ties: Spurs v Arsenal Man Utd v Ipswich Sunderland v Man City Reading v Barnsley/Everton Walsall v Chelsea
  23. Well yes, obviously. Just try to win every game. My main point was that 4th may not necessarily get us into the CL, given our shyte coefficient score.
  24. 1. Coutinho 2. Gomez 3. Clyne
  25. I don't know if I'm getting ahead of myself here but I think we should target a top 3 finish. Our UEFA coefficient score has gone down the toilet over the past few years (Tottenham's score is nearly double ours) so we could face a really difficult tie in the playoff if we finish 4th. We're 6/4 with BetVictor. As short as 11/10 with Ladbrokes.
