  9. Exactly the type of game that has held us back for years and years....on papaer easy three points, but so often ends in a draw or worse still a defeat like last season. Its the type of game where mentality comes into it, they will be prepared like we would facing a Utd or Chelsea. If we go out with the right desire we should get 3 points
  10. looks like agger is injured
  11. heading over for this myself
  12. tell that to FSG

  14. when the pressure is on suddenly goals are very hard to come given the massive step up he has taken
  15. People need to realise this aint no ordinary player we have, this is the one player who defines the word "winner". He will do absolutely anything to win, we've seen him handle balls on the goal line in World cups, his bitten opponents, he argues with linesmen decisions like they they have felt up his mrs, his on the edge when he walks on a pitch, he wants to win by all costs. I've never experienced a foriegn player to come to a foriegn club and care so much about winning a game of football then him. Look at the regard the Ajax fans hold him in, he went back after he left to join us and was given a hero's welcome, his a national hero back in his home. If and when he does leave us, I gaurantee he will leave with the love of the fans and will always be close to our hearts, cause at the end of the day, no matter what his faults are, he just wants to win a game of ball, and be it on a street, housing estate, park, or premiership ground, he will do anything to do it.

  19. ‘Can he affect the game going forward but play also with that tactical discipline, which keeps us nice and strong in the middle of midfield? I have said to him that whatever happens, whether he stays or goes, there is nothing changes in the relationship him and I have.’ what a bizarre thing to say....really rate Jordan obvious Rodgers doesint

    Hillsborough

Benitez speaks out on Hillsborough report to JOE 40 minutes agoSpeaking to JOE in a one-on-one interview to promote his new book in Dublin today, former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez welcomed the finding of yesterday’s report on the Hillsborough Stadium disaster. Benitez was in Dublin today launching his new book Champions League Dreams and revealed for the first time to JOE his thoughts on yesterday’s revelations. The event that claimed the lives of 96 Liverpool fans and an independent panel released a slew of previously unseen documents by the general public. The report said that the police deliberately altered statements that criticised their actions on the day and that newspaper reports impugned the Liverpool fans' reputations, specifically The Sun newspaper. Speaking in a one-on-one interview that will be published on JOE later today, Champions League-winning manager with Liverpool, Rafael Benitez, said that this will help the fans in dealing with their grief 23 years later. “We have been supporting the Hillsborough families group the whole time and then we have supported the families in general. “At the end of the day the truth has come out and that is positive and now they can think about this event in a new way.” Benitez went on to say that the newly available information will help Liverpool fans in any future legal actions that may be taken. “They have been expecting this for a long, long time," he said. "Now the truth is there and they can use this because there will be another fight.” Benitez also said that he realised when he took over Liverpool as manager that the role meant more than merely picking a team. “When you sign for Liverpool you need to know what is behind the culture and we knew the mentality of the scousers, the mentality of the people in the city. You have to be like a leader... you need to be an important part of the club.” The full Benitez interview will be on JOE later today, with Rafa also talking about Trapattoni, Robbie Keane and why, just why, he wanted to replace Xabi Alonso with Gareth Barry.
