  1. ...but who has the most hard cash?
  2. He was a f***ing good singer and a dame fine actor. Tegs in Grange Hill and Aiden in Eastenders. Lorraine Kelly used the chorus from one of his tracks for a whole summer on gmtv a few years back. His word is bond. Sack the spaniard.
  3. Unlike the last incumbent, KK got the England job on merit. He was a success at Fulham, Man City and Newcastle. I think he is an excellent club manager. If the geordies genuinely crave excitement more than trophies then they will get it, especially if they have a lot of money to spend.

  6. I hope he is given pots of money and another season. I can't imagine he is much of a motivator or man manager so it should be a good experiment. Given limitless cash and a high profile club, anyone should be able to win trophies. I'm sure i could do it, just pick the team, make the speeches and employ a few of the worlds best coaches. EASY.

    rafa

There is a difference between sending out 11 players and sending out a team.
  8. As in, won't give him limitless cash to throw at his team? Rafa should have something very close to what he wants by now.
  9. It will be a three horse race, and if it isn't Grant will be replaced sharpish.
  10. Wenger earnt those years by delivering the league title in his first full season. Rafa has earnt years with his CL win and I'm not suggesting his time is up either. However, with Wenger you get the sense of a work in progress when his teams aren't winning but I do't get the same feeling with ours. I don't see this team blossoming into a formidable one, neither do I see many of the lesser lights in it improving dramatically like they do with Wenger.
  11. I've seen this suggested a few times now. Kewell doesn't have a divine right to be in the side and certainly wouldn't be our best bet for a second striker, I'd rather see Benayoun or even Gerrard used there. I don't think Kewell has any 'guile' to his game either. This sort of chat is a waste of time anyway, let's just see if he can stay injury free for a few months before getting high expectations.
  12. Not sure, but I am sure that AF will have overtaken our total by then if we are relying on that youth. TBH, the writing is on the wall, Ferguson will finish when he has overhauled our total.
  13. AF has built them another team fit to win the trophy for a few years to come and allow him to retire with No.19 in the bag. We need to make major strides just to match them.

    Kuyt

When Torres is off the boil, it would make a massive difference to our side if his partner was even half a threat to the opposition. 10M should get more than a whimper in front of goal.
  15. Which is a bad thing?
  16. If you score once in 7 games, it can't be just bad luck, it points more to a more simple fact, the other team are better. Why do we have a problem admitting that?
  17. It was a great display, but Marseille are not a good side and no yard stick to see how good we are.
  18. No, the reason is because we haven't got as good a team as 3 of the four teams ahead of us and we have to visit them all between now and May. We are 10 points behind now and will be 20 points behind the eventual winner, probably MU. On paper they have the best 11 and AF get's even more out of his team than the sum of it's parts.
  19. With those two players in our team and Benayoun and Kuyt in their place, we would win the league and also would have won today. However, they may have said the same about Dalglish and Rush in the eighties, it is a pointless thing to say as it will never happen. Ronaldo at £12m looks cheap now, we ran away from the deal at the time and laughed at them paying through the nose. A couple of season later we go and pay £10M for Kuyt, another big money flop forward to sit alongside Diouf and Cisse.
  20. We will go on an unbeaten run soon. Once we are out of the running the pressure is off the players and then we seem to go on a decent run.
  21. Who would you want as Manager? I guess given our results against the, in your opinion, inferior team, you have already answered that.
  22. No, of course I'd say Yes.
  23. Don't you think it's relevant? When spending money it's always a wise move to have an idea where it's coming from, if it is at all and how much? I've got a guy who works for me like you, he thinks we need to buy an new lorry for a new order he is working on so he can show the prospective customer. He's happy to spend other peoples money, I say get the order then we'll get the f***ing lorry. Without the order, I won't need the lorry. Simplistic, but similar?
  24. You didn't answer the question because you can't. Rafa was compromised in his search for wingers because he didn't get Malouda through the players choice, is that it or are their others? He wanted Heinze because he is a decent left back who could offer cover at centre back, he isn't a cheap option and he was snapped up by Real Madrid not by Grimsby! Just exactly who do you think he was after? Rafa doesn't rotate his central defence, so happy with Carra & Agger, why would he want to spend big money on centre half? and who?
  25. I think it is unquestionable that there prime motive for a new manager is to make more money. Do I think it's good, currently no. Will i think it's good if they change the manager and we win the league and they make money, Rafa who? Huge if though.
