A further statement of support would just put the whole affair in the spotlight again. A contract extension is totally over the top as a gesture of support. The team has continually under performed in the title race, if it continues next season Rafa will be sacked. The difference between having 1.5 years and 3.5 years left on his contract is probably the price of a good defender!

He isn't alone at all. The day we start giving out contract extensions, costing millions of pounds a year, as a gesture is when we will really being looking at a financial disaster! Rafas agent will sound out and listen to offers from clubs just as illustrious as ours, shockingly those clubs will already have someone in the managers position. I think you are a bit naive tbh.
