  1. I hope Rafa is using those exact words letting rip at our players at the minute, bar Finnen and Momo, all the rest deserve everything they get. I know super fans will come on and say we must support the team, and when they play I will, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the majority of our players are playing at 50%. After that performance I am embarressed but I get the feeling that our players are not and that makes it worse.
  2. Or influencing others, does that mean encouraging others or influencing the game, if it means the latter then yes but I wouldn't say he encourages anyone.

  5. I read his book and thought he came across as a bit of a prat but my cousin was over at Anfield this year for her 30th birthday, someway her and her mates got into the players lounge after the game and as gerrard was leaving someone told him it was sineads bithday so he came over and wished her happy birthday, which was nice enough of him but pretty much only good manners, but this is where I was surprised, about 5 minutes later he came back with the pair of boots he wore in the match and gave it to Sinead as a birthday present. Now that was a bit 'above and beyond' so fair play to him. What I am trying to say is that for every 'he didn't do this...so he is a prat' story there is equally a 'he did this...so he is a sound fella' story. I would rather only be concerned with what he does on the pitch and leave his personality worries to his friends and family!
  6. Don't worry, it was that dick Nevilles fault...
  7. Could be Andy, I said Could be! Probably won't but he has an obvious talent.
  8. Brilliant player and if he played for us we would be saying he is going to be as good as Dalglish. I can understand why this thread was started but its a bit stupid, Rooney, like it or not is a world class player.

  10. I think we have to remember that although we are having our poor run at the minute, we are still only 6 points off the top. Any type of good run would see us right in it. I haven't gave up all hope...yet.
  11. I didn't see Gerrard stand up to be counted yesterday.
  12. I think we must point out that Pepe, did not, and I repeat did not break any rules, he is entitled to do what he did and no matter what the 'risks' if he does not handle the ball outside the area he is doing nothing wrong. There are risks in tackling but if you do it right, you should not be punished. I just think we should not use this instance as another stick to beat Pepe with.
  13. ffs, keep that idea quiet, Rafa hasn't thought of that one yet...
  14. Yeah, he probably did do it for attention, all these younger officials are in it for the fame! He's still a d****ead tho...
  15. Thats what I said! when he is playing well, i.e european cup final, fa cup final, etc, he leads the team well. its when he is struggling with his own form he goes into his shell and worries about himself too much, imo a captain must be able to see the bigger picture and regardless of the way he is playing himself should still be big enough to act a captains role, i.e encourage players, bollick them out, whatever it takes. I am not saying take the captains armband off him, I was just responding to a post that said he had all the qualities a captain needs, I simply don't think he does yet. BTW I don't see a problem with the guy that started this topic, its about Liverpools captain and he raised it on a Liverpool forum, he didn't do it in an abusive way, he just opened a discussion. If people don't want to join in on this specific topic then don't.
  16. I think he was just a d****ead, not a corrupt d****ead, just a normal, run of the mill d****ead...
  17. He may embrace the armband, who wouldn't ,but IMO he does not have every quality you'd want in a captain. When he is on form and the team are playing well he looks the part, but when he is suffering with his form he goes into his shell, leading by an example is good when you are playing well but when the team is struggling you need a bit more from your captain.
  18. i think he just slipped, I don't think any footballer is that quick thinking!
  19. I'm not one to go with 'he plays for liverpool so he must be better...' and would give an honest opinion if I thought a player got the better of a Liverpool player but I honestly never thought Momo got bossed today.
  20. Never liked him, cheered him on when he was a red but never really warmed to him. Met him once, confirmed everything that is bad in professional footballers.
  21. I think Jol has caught us out on that one, Stevie H was right Sami was brought back to take care of Mido and then Jol surprises everyone and puts in 2 small men! Whatcha gonna do?
  22. Thats how i felt paul, unfortunatly I did finish it and was even more disapointed with it, I think he is a world class footballer but if the book is a true reflection of him then he is not my type of fella (not in a gay way!)

  24. Fair play to stevie, I among others critisize him enough when he doesn't come out and support the club/boss/team mates in the way a captain should, but this time well done.
  25. 100% correct, when his mind is right, the best player in England, when it is wrong, it seems to effect the whole team. In his book he talks about needing everything to be perfect off the pitch to perform to his best on it, e.g when his parents were seperating, he played poorly. He seems the kind of person that Rafa will have to keep happy at all costs.
