  1. As long as we go 4-4-2 we'll have a chance, if not, then neither Kuyt or Ngog (or Babel) can play as a lone striker
  2. I suppose considering the current state of the UKs air traffic nobody has heard from any baggage handlers to confirm any of this

Spot on. Creativity in the middle of the park is non existent from the games I've managed to see (as has the movement, which could be linked to the same thing).

  10. It is nice to read some positive comments after everything thats been going on. I would like to say I stand behind the manager until the end, but I'm not so sure now. I also accept that the frustration to win the Premiership is bound to continue regardless of whether Rafa stays or goes. I just wish Rafa didn't go round saying things like we'll get 4th place. The difference this time (as compared with GH, for example) is that I'd be more scared then excited about who would come in afterwards. More importantly, as being expanded on in another thread, I'm more concerned about the future of the club itself, then its manager. But going back to Rafa, how long do you let it go on? How long is too long? It's been 5 years, wasn't that the 'plan' the club had? I guess the new owners arriving and everything else has changed things. Basically its a catch 22, I think we'll be damned if he leaves, damned if he stays at the moment, unless investment can be found - then it will be a different situation. Graham Taylor mentioned something yesterday during the match that I think rings true for me - by all means have a game plan, by all means ensure you have tactic awareness, but let your players play their game a bit more, don't be too restrictive

  14. It's difficult to play anywhere when you're not on the pitch
  15. It's how he described himself in an interview on the BBC...
  16. Who knows? But you could argue that if AA is supposed to be a 'box to box' player, and with Stevie not getting any younger and perhaps in a season or two won't be bombing around the pitch quite as much, then you could drop Stevie into a more 'Xabi' type position with AA in front. But as DBoon has also said, without games you simply don't know how good he is yet.. ...I don't think we have replaced Xabi yet...I'm not even sure if Stevie could (or want) to play in a similar way to him either, but he's got the vision and the passing ability to at least do more than a good job
  17. Was AA ever billed as a Xabi replacement? Cos he's not, even by his own admission. I'm not sure he's fully fit yet either
  18. Ok I know I'm going to get shot for saying this, but give the guy a proper full pre-season and see how he does until Xmas, if he's still dissapointing, then get rid
