  1. Why would anyone who isn't clinically insane want them to stay and who can't see the fact they would use the vast majority of that money to ease their debt. In addition to this, clubs we then went to buy from would grossly inflate their prices due to the fact we had just received over £100 million, plus it sends out a very clear signal that the owners see us as a selling or feeder club meaning ambitious players that came to us would only see us as a shop window for the cash rich clubs. Apart from the reasons stated, good idea
  2. I do, why should we help disrupt the team, the owners are doing enough of that, any protests at ther match have to be well thought out for that very reason.
  3. Well not everyone can be as great a fan as you can they
  4. Of course it will be more difficult if those two aren't playing that much is obvious, but we haven't shown the aggresion and believe in the past few years at Anfield needed to beat them. Even if they were playing and we fail to been in their faces our chances would be seriously diminished anyway, get in their faces, be positive and we will stand a decent chance of beating them.
  5. While I can understand why the idea of a boycott is seen as the best form of protest, empty seats etc. In reality I don't see how this is going to work because if you don't buy a ticket others will, even if you ignore that fact, because you have to organise this in advance so people know not to buy a ticket, the only fans then being left out of pocket are season ticket holders and is it fair on them to be the only fans to be financially disadvantaged? I dont think so or is the proposal people buy a ticket as normal but just don't show on the day, given the huge spread of our fan base, to actually get the message out so fans didn't turn up etc would be a logistical nightmare and costly for the adverts required. Plus fans from overseas or who would stay overnight may well have paid for train/plane tickets, hotels etc therefore asking them to be even further out of pocket. One better way of having a very high profile protest would be to have a mass exodus say 10-15 minutes before half time, this would show a very clear message to the owners and would be a high profile stunt for the media. It would be easier to organise as there could be a leaflet handout prior to the match etc. Of course the downside is the impact this could have on the pitch during such a protest and I am alwayts wary of protests which may impact what happens on the pitch. Whatever high profile events take place i would see them more as reminders for fans and the media about the owners, plus it lets them know we as fans aren't going to sit back and go away. However to stand any chance of success, I think the pressure has to be continuous and not only on G+H but people/companies they do business with the banks etc. Not sure what form this would take. Not sure if I can make the meeting yet but if not I will be emailing SOS with my thoughts/idea etc.
  6. Nothing like ignoring the facts to try and prove your negative and factually incorrect point.
  7. Accept it isn't clear he is a quality player, in fact it's more clear he is a more miss than hit as for missing out on Joaquin and Ribery, I take it you are talking about previous transfer windows?
  8. Do try and stop being a complete t**t, whcih ever one of you it is!!
  9. You are the biggest c*** on here so just f*** off!!!!
  10. It wasn't that bad , we passed iy better than we have yet this season and stop listening to sky pundits etc as they make it sound far worse, plus there are worse things that have happened than our performance today.
  11. You have been wrong all summer why should anyone believe anything you say?
  12. I think major businesses including LFC do have a social responsibility to work with their RDA's, local councils and communities to help regenerate run down areas they're based in.
  13. I think you may have hit the nail on the head as to one of the major reasons we have started so poorly, with Xabi too deep we can't put pressure on the ball or get the support to the front men with somebody playing thayt deep in a four. Similar to when we lost Agger last season, we had to defend a bit deeper and lost our ability to press higher up the pitch and get the support to the front men. Obviously the change of system helped get rid of the rpoblem as did the arrival of Skrtl, hopefully with the return of Masch etc we might see a return to last years system.
  14. He has also played RM for us in a 442, my problem with their performances hasn't been with the system, but the lack of a first touch and although they have both been poor, Yossi has been truly awful and that cant be purely because of the system, he's a professional footballer who will have played in a wide midfield role and should do the basic a lot better than he has so far this season. That could apply to Kuyt as well about doing the basics poorly. I do think as a side with look a lot more cohesive when we play the type of formation we played towards the end of last season, you mentioned Keane playing at right back, he couldn't play any worse there than he has been up front
  15. No its not, as both Yossi and Kuyt have played those roles before and doesn't Kuyt play wide right for Holland as well?
  16. And here is the only fan who thinks their plans were not only ok but well intentioned, ffs I've heard it all now.
  17. You may have a point and I was frustrated by what I felt was a lack of direction with regards to sustained pressure on the owners and the way certain supporters were unduly aggressive in the responses, there are a couple fo posters who have been very quick to jump down anyones throats who haven't been unconditionally supportive of SOS. Agreed there are some posters who are equally as guilty on the other side of the fence. However given the announcement from the club this morning and I think what is hugely significant is that there are absolutely no timescales mentioned as to when the stadium would be built. Then i think a concerted effort needs to be made to put pressure on the owners and the banks to ensure those two are forced to sell, SOS are the only show in town with the ability to organise something like this. To this end I have joined and think others should as well, I don't agree with everything they are doing but their main aim is one we should be behind. Plus you can't have any influence from the outside looking in.
  18. But nobody produces a continual supply of top quality youngsters year in year out, please don't use the Arsenal as an example of where this happens successfully as they have a, got a new 60,000 staduim and b, haven't won anything in the past 3 seasons. To be able to compete at the very highest level then we need to have the extra revenue a new stadium will produce not to mention the economic implications for the local area of no extra jobs being generated by the lack of a new staduim, the extra revenue the extra supporters would bring into the local area and last but not least the regenration of the area this whole project would bring. I totally agree that as a club we should be bringing good youngsters in and through our youth system so we don't always have to pay big transfers but this can't be relied upon to ensure success.
  19. When the club is one of, if not the major of source of revenue into the area, not to mention the fact the residents have to put up with an invasion of 40 0dd thousand fans every other week and all the disruption and rubbish that generates then of course the club and owners have a massive responsibility for that area. I am a great beleiver in major businesses having a social responsibility to the areas they are based in, not just employing people. Along with getting rid of the owners I think this is the other issue people should be supporting SOS on.

    Agger

    That simply is not true.
  21. I don't have a problem with SOS or rather the reason they were formed and if their focus was on the reasons they were formed then I would join and may do anyway. I don't support your complete opposition to them.
  22. Exactly the type of reaction that will help the cause of SOS, if someone has an issue with the direction SOS are taking at least try and answer it not just abuse people.
  23. Paddy 66

    Agger

Totally disagree, keep Carra in the centre preferably with Agger. we don't know how well Agger and Skrtl will do as a partnership seeing as they have yet to actually play as a partnership. Plus ther were times last night when Skrtl struggled a bit.
  24. I would rather trust what the club is saying regarding the injury than some surgeon who in his first sentence makes anything else he says pointless by saying "it all depends on the diagnosis" and of course he hasn't examined Gerrard so how can he tell how long he will be out? Answer is he can't.
  25. I'm not so sure it is too simplistic, the plans as far as i read it was based on borrowing huge amounts of money repayable against the clubs future earnings which to be viable would have had to increase and part of that increase was a new stadium. Don't forget at the time the banks etc said yes to the deal, they were saying yes to a lot of things and the credit crunch is showing us they got an awful lot of it wrong. The whole deal was always built on sand as neither of the t**t twins were ever going to spend much if any of their own money. If the rumour is true, I can't see how they won't have to sell, surely the banks will force their hand if significant part of how they were going to increase the revenue is withdrawn.
