'My game suffers when my position is changed'
Paddy 66 replied to Rory Fitzgerald 's topic in Liverpool FC
No he hasn't and Gerrard is a better player now than when Rafa took over that is a fact. -
Thats assuming people will be prepared to boycott RBS and close accounts etc, if you are going to threaten them with a mass boycott then you have to be confident of being able to pull it off, just in case they call your bluff. I'm really not sure how how many people will actually be prepared to close accounts, change mortgages, loans etc the reason being there are financial implications in doing so.

'My game suffers when my position is changed'
Paddy 66 replied to Rory Fitzgerald 's topic in Liverpool FC
I agree with those saying its more of a dig at England then Liverpool, I also don't see it as him throwing his toys out of the pram as he clearly says he will always give his best in other positions but thinks he is a better player in the center midfield rather than in other positions. I think there is a lot of frustration there over the roles he has played for England. -
Sent a similar idea to SOS on friday, although looking to include anyone G+H had dealings with so they would start to ask G+H why the hell they were receiving a large amount of emails/letters about the ownership issue. Anbother way of keeping pressure on those two. Definitely think emailing the RBS board would be a good idea, what about major shareholders as well?

That is such a stupid statement and indicative of how some SOS die hards react to any criticisms of what SOS has done, if SOS is as democratic as it claims then they and their supporters should take the criticism on board. This kind of statement does SOS no good and will put some off joining as they think if they raise a criticism then they will be derided for it,

They are pure 100% evil apparently and the club don't need them...except they do need them to help bring in the extra revenue to help us get the players needed to be successful.

Maybe I and others have, just because I support what SOS want in terms of wanting the owners out doesn't mean I have to blindly follow them and if they have made what I believe to be a fundamental error I will say so, as a member I am within my rights to do so. I really hate the fact if you do so then people jump down your throat with the What are you doing argument. Maybe some SOS supporters should stop trying to belittle people into mindlessly agreeing with everything SOS suggest. I would have tried to join in but due to the fact SOS decided this protest against RBS should go ahead with no real notice I missed it and probably most others did to. If you think that level of organisation is acceptable then great I personally don't and will say so.

Why at a Liverpool match why should anyone be singing Irish rebel songs ffs. There is a big difference between have songs using the tunes of rebel songs than actually singing rebel songs.

I understand and agree with the sending of the letter, although I think it should be aimed at just more than their CEO. I'm sorry but the hoax calling thing sounds a bit sad and why take this action against them before they have actually agreed to refinance is beyond me. I know from years of carrying out trade union work the common wisdom was to raise your concerns first and if need be let them know you would take action, if they, in this case refinanced G+H. Not show your hand before you have given them a chance to take note of your concerns. Seeing how late the notification of this action was I would think the effect on their business was minimal, it kind of makes it difficult to see how they are going to take any threats from SOS seriously in the future. If SOS wanted to show RBS we meant business then why not get something properly organised and an email notification sent out to try and get the maximum effect, rather than post something on forums a few minutes before you want it to happen on a saturday afternoon. I would think most posters didn't see it until after the end of the phoning in period. Unfortunately this makes SOS seem very amatuerish and doesn't give me any confidence that they are capable of getting RBS etc to take them seriously. I hope I am wrong I really do.

This weekends International Football
Paddy 66 replied to Ronnie Whelan 's topic in General Football Discussion
Why are you being so nice about them, the way they are playing thats a compliment. If this is anything to go by I think Crotia will hammer us on Wednesday. -
I'm really not sure about asking people to boycott the RBS group by closing accounts etc as it could cost individual members money to do so as changing mortgages/loans, insurances can hit the individual member in the pocket and we aren't just talking a few pounds as there are normally penalty clauses attached. This will only involve a % of SOS members not all of them and I won'#t for one be supporting it as I don't believe a, the boycott will work b, that its fair for SOS to ask for a limited % of its membership to take action which could financially have a negative impact on them. I can't make the meeting this afternoon but have emailed SOS my point of views and a suggestion on other types of action.

I look out for Albion Rovers results, they have consistently been the worst team in Scotland for years now. I like to see Kings Lynn do well but thats cos I was born there.

No she hasn't, she still has her season ticket in her name, if the other 2 tickets had genuinely been her allocation then when the DA had given the club a list of names against season tickets surely her name would have been listed against 3 tickets. Its not an issue to have a go at the club about, it really isn't, because they are just tightening the allocation up to ensure that the DA isn't giving out more season tickets than their members are entitled to. As for whether they then use any left over to sell via the general sale, Thomas cook or sold to those on the waiting lists really up to them. I don't think in reality we can reasonably expect much to change with regard to make tickets more affordable for local kids until the staduim is built.
-
I don't see the problem here I really don't, its quite clear that she got her hands on two extra tickets which weren't meant specifically for her or her relatives and that has now been stopped. She still has the offer of a season ticket which she wasn't entitled to. End of story, the club haven't actually done much wrong here apart from communicating out to her and others what was happening. I'm all for having a go at the actions taken by the club when its clear they have ripped people off etc but to use this is a case of some people crying wolf.

Wonder when he is going to do that ? Because he hasn't shown this upturn in form yet.

No, only of the fact you keep mentioning what a great fan etc you are.

Pennant to be given 1 year contract extension
Paddy 66 replied to GWistooshort's topic in Liverpool FC
I'd prefer to see him ahead of Benayoun, just but Kuyt is definitely a better player than him. although I hope this extension is just to ensure we get more money when we flog him, he really isn't good enough to play for us. -
I know its bl00dy daft to start all this now, 3 games in unbeaten as well, albeit not having played and already there are posters doubting whether Rafa is good enough to take us to the next level. If he can't then i don't know who can, I actually beleive he is the right man for us and I'll leave him to the tactics.

The issue I have with a lot of the arguments used against SOS on here is that people seem to be forgetting that the biggest issue we as fans face is the fact of who currently owns the club and what they are doing to the club. To stand any chance of getting rid of those two parasites is to have a united approach against them and the only organisation attempting this is SOS. That is the reason we should be getting behind them and be offering our support, the rest of their aims, many of which I disagree with are really almost an irrelevance at the moment because if we don't get rid of those two the club we support will be decimated behind believe. I can understand given the type of replies some posts get why posters get agitated against SOS and it annoys me to as everyone is entitled to an opinion and should be able to raise an issue without getting accused of being apathetic or a voice for G+H. However given where we are at these differences from both sides need to be put to one side.

Is our part in the big 4 finally under threat?
Paddy 66 replied to Mr Makaveli's topic in Liverpool FC
of course it did -
Correct, I have no doubts there would have been some form of protests without SOS but to stand any chance of getting rid of the owners, efforts need to be concentrated and united, SOS are the only show in town and if people want the owners out should support their efforts. Even if you are issues, which I still do, with other activities they have done or the content of some of their statements, I believe with the recent announcement on the staduim means these need to be put to one side and fans getting behind SOS to try and drive these two parasites out. To be honest Ant I don't think it is apathy so much as people having issues with some of the statements SOS have made. Plus some of the vitriol shown to posters when they cast any issue/questions over what SOS have done.

Of course rumours would have been out there and do you honestly think City would really care what we thought, they'd be more interested in the PR of showing their intent to go after the best. SKY would certainly have no qualms about broadcasting such rumours. I'm more interested in whether we can make the move upwards and put in a challenge rather than mindless hysteria the new owners of city seem to have induced in some on this site.
