He's getting credit for getting out in front of it from the basic pundit class of yer Redknapps and yer Murphys instead of actually being assessed and analysed. He's been unbelievably bad there. There's no excuse for how s***e they've been in the league. I can't decide if getting in the CL would be good or bad for them. Obviously it'll give them money to spend but will the extra £60-110m give them enough quality to sustain a CL campaign without bombing out of the PL?

McAtee is the only young fringe player they could make money off now I think, there's a lad at Norwich doing well but he's not worth much. They might get a few quid for Nunes, Grealish and Phillips as well but not that much you'd think

Every time I see him he looks like an incredible footballer who makes a difference in every game he plays. The kind of player you'd adapt your team to accommodate. Trent was one of those too but in a very different way. Frimpong reminds me of Dani Alves a bit, he seems to be playing the game 20% faster than everyone around him.

Yeah but his dad was a workhorse mid-table Premier League midfielder in the late 90s/early 2000s. There's no way someone like that could produce a great centre-forward.

If you're looking at squad makeup, I think we've a bit of a gap in the squad as well because we basically didn't have a sporting director for 18 months/2 years. Ideally you'd like to have a few guys at 19/20 around the squad with a chance of pushing for first team games but the best prospects we have (Ngumoha and Nyoni) are probably a year or two away from being fully fledged squad members and it seems like McConnell, Doak etc aren't rated quite highly enough. I wouldn't be surprised if we spend 10/15m on a couple of decent prospects (assuming Chelsea don't just sign them all)

I think we should be shipping out both of our current 9s and bringing in two new ones. Jota is too injury prone and even when he's fit he's really streaky. One of Isak/Ekiteke and either Jonathan David on a free or Liam Delap for £30m would be a huge leap forward.

To be fair to him, he came to us as a CB. We converted him to CM and he'd only been playing there about a year when he made his debut for us. I watched a few vids of him playing for Spain u21s and Las Palmas earlier and he looks like he's come on a lot, his use of the ball and awareness on the pitch seems a lot better

On Bajcetic, I think we'd be mad to let him go this summer, he looks like he's blossomed in Spain this season. He could be a very useful squad player next year with his ability to fill in at CB in a pinch. I know we all love Endo but any injury to Gravenberch could have had a major effect on our season. Bajcetic is much closer in style to Gravenberch that Endo is.

Romano saying we're interested in Morgan Rogers "but a deal is difficult". Presumably Villa have PSR issues? They'd want too much for us to be interested your think, there would be better value out there

The links to Jonathan David have gone a bit quiet but I'd be very surprised if we're not in for him. We've been credibly linked on and off for years and we tend to return once we find players who fit the profile. He'll be hard to resist on a Bosman.
