  2. www.philosophyfootball.com or a similar one http://www.thinkingfootball.co.uk/ The Liverpool Way have a few good ones too
  3. Because Aimar used to go everywhere on the pitch, you'd see him pop up at full-back to collect the ball on occasion, he had more of a free role than Crouch or Morientes has
  4. Their money and nouveau riche attitude makes them natural rivals for our club and everything it stands for. I hate every association we have with them though, they make my skin crawl.
  5. by far the most important factor IMO.
  6. He's a good player, very good on the ball, a bit small though, Crouch gave him an awful time in the away game.

If you're with your mates it not a problem, if you're not just ask the guy beside it to hold it for you. I think it might lead to a better atmosphere as people would go in earlier to get a good seat.
  8. Walcott, Abidal and Kuyt
  9. I think only Riise and Carra went without medium to long term injuries last season

  13. Because if we overpay for one player we'll have to overpay for all subsequent transfers.
  14. Rafa has said before that he played 4-2-3-1 at Valencia because of the players he had. He had two good wingers in Vicente and Rufete and an exceptional playmaker in Aimar, so he built the formation to get the most out of them. I think last season he thought Gerrard might be able to play similarly to Aimar, but he's probably realised that he's better when attacking from deep. I seem to remember something from Balague's book about this too, that because of the players we had he felt 4-5-1 would suit us better, think it was something to do with us not being able to hold the ball up.
  15. I don't think it can break our season but it can certainly make it
  16. Bolton and Chelsea score a fair amount from corners
  17. Where'd you hear this? UEFA have some rule whereby nobody can own more than one club that competes in Europe. ENIC had to sell of their shares in Rangers and some Greek team when they brought this rule in because they wanted to focus on Spurs. It's also the reason Abramovich "sponsors" CSKA Moscow rather than owning them. Think yer man Romanov had trouble cos he own Kaunas too.
  18. He has the hair of a 1930's player, his name should really be Alf or Wilf.
  19. I can't agree with that, I hate slagging off Liverpool players, but any team with Traore in it is a weaker team. I think it's a myth that he's stronger defensively than the other two, he's just bigger and has greater powers of recovery because of his pace and long legs. His positioning is appalling, he gets dragged inside too often and I could write an essay about his deficencies in possession. With Heinze and Cole out for a while and Chelsea rotating that position I find it hard to disagree. Riise has improved a lot this season at left-back. Today's incident with Jenas is the first glaring error I can remember from him this season. I do agree with those that say we need to strengthen there though. The problem is there aren't that many left backs around who we could sign who would be good enough.
  20. That's the same rule as it's always been, Andy Gray just confuses the matter with his ridiculous catch-all phrases "hand to ball or ball to hand" "he was going away from goal" etc.
  21. First half we dominated, but only looked threatening a few times. They started the second half better and Keane should've scored. They never really threatened apart from that though until right at the end when Keane should've scored again.
  22. They're mostly Irish, so they're now in the pub too I thought Finnan played well for 70 minutes, possibly th best player on the park up to that stage, then he started to tire and his distribution got a bit sloppy.
  23. He clipped his left foot on the backlift, it was intentional and he had to go. He should have been booked a couple of times before that anyway when he tripped Kewell.
  24. Everyone's in the pub
  25. Several errors in there. Chelsea didn't buy anyone from the recent u17 tournament, they bid for several players but were turned down by them all.
