  2. i reckon a scratch golfer would be lucky to break 100 at Augusta
  3. snooker is as monotonous as feck. i used to be a handy player a few years ago, i have a highest breat in the 70's and would often get 50+ breaks. i used to practice with a guy who briefly was in the top 100 in teh world at snooker, and he used to knock in century breaks all the time in practice, and he was way way off the level of the top players in the game, although he is now making a decent living in America playing 9 ball pool
  4. lol. another good laugh is checking out Garth Crooks team of the week on the beeb website. the only Liverpool player in it is riise. obviously watching a different game to everyone else, as Gera ripped riise to bits in the second half
  5. to be fair, i dont think you could really class Steve staunton as a "Star" player, the same, although perhaps a tad harsh, could be applied to Houghton. Neal is one i thought about, but i think he was more taken for granted than not loved, a bit like Steve Finnan today. one i was gonna mention, but is another strange one, was Jimmy Case. he always seemed to get a very "mixed" reaction, any tiem he came back to anfield as a player with another club
  6. Stevie Gerrard should get our player of the year, and to suggest otherwise is laughable. there have been many other good performers, infact a case could probably be made for any of the regular back 4, Reina and and Alonso, but Stevie G has been absolutely immense this season for us. his contribution in game after game is extraordinary.
  7. TBH thats exactly how i feel about him too. i always felt that Owen never really had Liverpool in his heart, that he always felt his future lay elsewhere, that we were a stepping stone for him. i dont begrudge him any of that, but like Sammy says, i dont feel teh need to shower him with praise. good luck to the lad, i wish him well.
  8. Ronnie whelan for long periods of his time here was never really a Kop favourite
  9. are we palying Brums reserve team or senior team?
  10. to be honest, i think Linfield will walk it. they have steam rolled their way to the Norn Irish league, i dont think they have lost to a domestic side all season, league or cups, and Peter Thompson and Glenn ferguson up front take some stopping. their only downside is that they are nearing the end of the season, so tiredness might be a factor
  11. or seats on the way out!! the black marker pen factory are working round the clock at the anticipated demand for them

  13. if Hearts win their semi today, thy will be in europe. 4 seasons ago they finished 7th in the Unibond, behind the likes oF Marine. Scottish football really is w***
  14. its personal choice. i'd have Gerrard everytime in central midfield. i think, from some of our fans, Stevie G is the most under rated player in the side
  15. Reina 8 Finnan 7 Sami 7 Carta 7 Riise 6 Momo 9 Xabi 7 Kewell 7 Cisse 9 Crouch 5 Fowler 6
  16. if it was a straight choice between playing 90 minutes with either Gerrard or Alonso at left back, who would you pick? or at right back, or at centre forwrd, or centre back? i'd have Stevie every time. thats what i mean by you could play Gerrrad anywhere and he has still the potential to be the best player on the park
  17. its even funny when its written down. one of my all time favourite chants
  18. the guy is awesome. and thats not taking anything away from Gerrard, who, IMO is the best midfielder in the world. infact, i would go as far as saying that Gerrrad could play in any outfield position on the park and still be the best player in the team. but Sissoko, at 21, is an unbelievable talent at central mid.
  19. i dunno. if Sissoko was Endglish the press would be jizzing all over him. the lad has just turned 21. what a f***ing talent he is
  20. and you are a c***.
  21. i reckon he is as good as Gerrard was at the same age. i also thought that last season, Hamann was going to be impossible to replace. the biggest compliment i can pay him is that we dont miss Hamann when he is playing. tothink he was nearly a blue!!! what a signing sissoko has turned out to be. awesome
