Quality goal - what a player Garcia was for us, annoying at times but had some great moments (i know there is another thread dedicated to this!).

I agree info has dried up, but I find it hard to believe that there is no truth in some of the names or that we have missed out on targets (a couple not all). Though one thing they all have in common is that the majority if not all are players from the PL - we havent really seen much press linking us with the more exotic player this window, it maybe that the press are thinking no CL, limited draw but its hard to know.

Part of me hopes its part of some plan, send out so many false trails that we can focus on our real targets - though there is some serious straw clutching going on there though those briefings re Young and the like do add some credence to the possibility it maybe true

Agree - and the international window opens too - a positive aspect to cling on to. If missing out on average British players means we pursue targets from further afield then it maybe a blessing in disguise, but no one knows we may get a flurry of activity over the weekend

We have made bids for a few players so there is money available - it looks like we have money for the first time in a while but I just hope we spend it on decent players

Jury is out on Carroll and of course Henderson (he is a kid!) - but I am not too enamoured with the prospects of Downing or Adam, I am sure they are dependable but we have quite a few of those in the squad already, people who can do a job. Of the two I think Downing will make a impact, provide some much needed width but he has been average his whole career and I dont see that changing much. I do apologise for the negativity - I know its very knee jerk of me Agree - Sakho (sp?) was linked a few times and Lovren recently - the latter would be good

Would prefer Enrique myself, feck me struggling to get excited about the transfer window atm - its all these average players we look like buying! I know its not right - its knee jerk and all of that, I just keep hoping its because we are waiting for the international transfer window to open
