Todays events have really pissed me off, it all comes down to the shambolic way we approached the case and his defence, the lack of PR, the inconsistant statement from Comoli and the lack of pre-planning, surely it wouldnt have been overly complex to all sit down to ensure that they would send a unified message that what he said was misinterpreted. We released a strong satement post his charge, but have now backed down and taken it up the a*** from the FA. A joke from start to finish. Rant over

Exactly - he is not good enough, I cant get over how slow or flat footed he is - surely as a striker you need to anticipate and get into the box, give and goes, try and attack the ball - he lacks the basic qualities to be a prolific striker. As others have said there is one thing for sure we cant continue to carry him hoping he will develop. We need a finisher, a poacher and though it pains me to say it, someone in the mould of Hernandez would be perfect for us.

The back four will need ample protection tonight and I would think Spearing & Henderson are better suited at providing that than Spearing & Adam. Adam has played well against the bigger teams this season but we need to be more controlled tonight, he roams and leaves gaps - SIlva, Nasri and co will have a party. I know Henderson isnt exactly known for putting in a tackle but we have limited cover and at least he can apply pressure and slow down there attacks.

That looks good, though I think Downing will get in ahead of Kuyt and Bellamy will start. Adam needs to be dropped for a couple of games imo.

In fairness alot of us said that about Lucas too - not forward thinking, always passing sideways and backwards. I saw a few stray passes from Tiote but didnt think he was poor.

Reminded me of Lucas in his early days - tidy, good in the tackle and kept the passing simple

I agree, Henderson improved markably when he came on - as a team we sparked into life, his passing, movement and drive from midfield made a huge difference. It was all too predictable before, going down the wings with Adam and Henderson creating finding it hard to impose or create anything from central midfield.

Get him watching tapes of Gerrard (how to cross) and Enrique (how to run with the ball and attack players) on loop

I always thought that Henderson would be the one to give way when Gerrard was fit but on current form its definitely Adam.
