  1. Yep. Must be some real good s*** they’re smoking over there
  2. He’s probably thinking the same about us not considering him
  3. Based on what? Technically Kweev is up around the top of the list this season if you’re looking at the overall number of saves made / shots stopped, successful passes, pens saved, clean sheets etc. If we want to persist in giving the keeper as many passes as possible then Verbruggen would be the stand out keeper in the PL for us.
  4. It’s mad trying to second guess if a player is good or not based on how they’re playing for us at the moment when people clearly haven’t seen what the player was capable of. If you saw Wirtz for the first time this season you’d think he was some lightweight Sunday league player not one of the world’s best prospects. Frimpong was good at Leverkusen. Him in that squad playing against us would rip us to shreds.
  5. I think that’s the main issue for him. He’s not used to receiving the ball so often and our passes are often crap and to his wrong foot. If we’re planning on letting Ali go then the best replacement would be Kweev.
  6. Unlikely that Klopp will be back in any capacity but seeing as Hughes and Edwards only have 1 year left on their contracts with the former being linked with a move away this summer, there’s still a glimmer of hope he could come back. You’d think FSG would also be reviewing the positions of Hughes and Edwards in any case and the flaws with the structure they’ve put in place (and their calamitous transfers dealings last summer).
  7. On the bright side at least our players will come back from the World Cup fitter than they are now.
  8. He possibly was sorting it but the mad people who run the club were siding with various whinging players and undermining him.
  9. He was on the ball at lot when he was at Bournemouth. The difference is they were very direct with their attacks and moved up the pitch quickly where as we move more at a snail’s pace so we end up being more static on the ball and have to dribble or we get caught in possession (apologies to all snails’s I’ve offended with that comment).
  10. So there’s no time in between games to work on tactics and fitness but there is time for everyone to go on their jollies? Absolutely farcical.
  11. The management structure has always appeared to be egosentric even before Edwards brought in his mate Hughes. They seem to get a free pass despite poor decisions, signings or sitting on their hands doing nothing. They didn’t have a leg to stand on with Jürgen because he was on another level or 2 above them and is undoubtedly why some of them left the club but now because of the structure they’ve put in place are able to hide behind the ‘head coach’ for their decisions. As others have also said, all their contracts are up in a year; how has that happened? Why haven’t they been put on gardening leave and new people brought in? They could potentially be going to a rival and screwing us over right now by not acting on the hideous way the team affairs have been conducted.
  12. He was injury prone for Newcastle though. It was utterly bizarre how aggressively we pursued him in the summer for that enormous amount of money. Then we sell Diaz and also drop our intensity and pace which is what Isak thrives on.
  13. And it’s a f***ing massive difference
  14. So we were happy to spend £75M on him 2 years ago but now we're not interested in him? How could our criteria have changed so drastically when we're now even more desperate for a winger / striker?
  15. There might be a sniff of something positive from that but it’s really hard to tell
  16. Yep, we’re in exactly the same situation Utd were in. The only fans who wanted Ten Hag to remain and for Amorim to continue was the likes of us, City and Arsenal etc. The people upstairs just bury their heads in the ground pretending it’s all going to fine. They really should start using their eyes and ears more rather than relying on formulas and egos.
  17. They might also get a decent manager in
  18. It might be the sushi I’ve just eaten but I honestly feel a bit nauseous thinking that Slot could still be in charge of us going into next season.
  19. 'There's probably a split in the Liverpool supporters over whether he should stay or go'? The only fans who want Slot to remain in charge of us support City, Utd, Arsenal and Everton.
  20. It was one of his assets at Valencia so I have no idea what's gone wrong with him.
  21. Slot will be saying we faced them a week too early now.
  22. That tifo was weird. I know it must be difficult for them but they should just try celebrating their own club. Still, it’s nice to see we’re living rent free in their heads.
  23. That’s the thing, if he doesn’t get sacked until we’re into next season then that’s another season we can likely write off
  24. I get your point but our system doesn’t suit anything or anyone apart from the teams we play against. Yes, all the players should be doing better but when your boss isn’t motivating you, sniping at your colleagues and doesn’t seem arsed himself, it must be a frustrating environment to be in. Leverkusen were a controlling team but they moved the ball quickly and kept the tempo up. Wirtz was instrumental with this. Can’t remember the stats now but I think they averaged 2 goals a game. They were a horrible team to play against.
