  3. We'll make sure we do cuz. Never been the Oakie myself, so as regular matchgoers and posters here we really should make an appearance...
  4. I actually think it's the position where he get forward most effectively.

    Luis Garcia

His best position for me is still playing just off the striker. I'd rather see him used more often in that position, instead of Morientes playing every single bloody game, or the woeful Cisse playing at all. He's nowhere near as good on either wing in my opinion,
  7. He's quite clearly knackered and has been since the second half against United. I'd rest him Sunday, just like I would have rested him last night.
  8. Agree with the original list, but I'd actually say Dudek as well after Istanbul. He'll go down in Liverpool legend for all time, even if he never plays for us again. Which players do you reckon will eventually go down as Liverpool legends in years to come? I'd say Reina and Alonso myself...

  11. Absolutely. If his next manager can sort out Cisse's finishing, work-rate, touch, strength and movement he'll be onto a winner...
  12. Practically every big game Arsenal have won has been down to him, including in Europe (hat-trick at Roma, stunning free-kick against Juve etc). I'd say rather than this 'he bottles the big games' crap, the truth is even the best player in the Premier League can't drag them through to the latter stages of the CL single-handedly. This year they got a great draw, and last night his stunning goal gave them a great chance of going further. He's an unbelievable footballer and a pleasure to watch.
  13. No I know it wasn't, but I just didn't realise how feeble he was. When I think of what that £14m could have got us, it makes me feel ill.
  14. Finnan for me, although there really would be very, very little to choose between the two. I'd say both players would be equally strong defensively, but Babbel was more of a direct goal threat aerially from set pieces and even open play. However, although rarely in the position to stick the ball in himself, Finnan's delivery with both feet is as consistently good as I've seen from any Liverpool player, let alone right-backs. That gives him the slight edge for me.
  15. ...how f*cking weak is he? Got muscled off the ball again and again last night, and was a big reason we failed to retain possession after his introduction. I'm starting to think the reason he doesn't go past players despite his pace, is he knocks it past and gets eased off the ball due to his lack of strength. He looks like he should be strong by his build, so what's going on? Woeful touch, can't finish to save his life, lazy and now when he gets the ball into his feet he looks like a stiff breeze would blow him over. You certainly don't get a lot of value for £14m these days do you...
  16. That's exactly it - you could count his moments when he's actually done anything of substance, setting a goal up or God forbid scoring one himself, on one hand. Garcia, although awful at times was our top scorer last season, and a fair few of those were stunners. Morientes has just been completely underwhelming since his arrival. I don't really look forward to watching him play anymore to be honest, and I was excited about his signing when he arrived.
  17. On the plus side, Benfica are sch1te and we'll marmalise them at home...
  18. One player I think is very, very under-rated is Petit. His passing and control of the game from the centre are superb. Not the type of player we need, but I'm amazed the Mancs aren't interested...
  19. Hyypia just didn't get a good footing, Luizao gave him a nudge as the ball was played and he didn't recover from it. Just one of those things really, he got the better of Sami for once. As for what we need - a quick, skilful winger and a top-class striker who can run with the ball, stretch defences and score goals and that would be it for me...
  20. Rafa is a legend already, and he has made some brilliant decisions this year. But last night, in my opinion he had a serious off-night (as we all do of course). Kewell was clearly knackered after United and needed a rest, moreso than Gerrard who should have played an hour then come off if he was tired (the dead leg bit doesn't wash as he was fit enough to come on). Garcia should have been crooked as he was having a shocker and Crouch should have played to get hold of the ball up front which we failed to do consistantly. Barring a good hour against United Morientes is in a desperate run of form and shouldn't have played for so long yet again in such a big game. Cisse was all wrong for that type of game and shouldn't have been introduced at all - was he going for some sort of world record for being knocked off the ball? After he came on, it seemed to happen every minute periodically; I went hoarse shouting GET YOUR BODY IN over and over again. What with Cisse being the plank he is, Garcia totally off-form and Kewell clearly knackered in the forward positions we were giving the ball away so cheaply it was untrue towards the end, and putting the defence under steadily more and more pressure. Eventually we succumed to a set-piece, but they'd been pressing and we just lost concentration for once in the game and were punished. Fingers crossed we'll do em in the next leg anyway, Benfica are a poor side for the last 16 of the Champions League they really are. But I would have done things completely differently last night, and it's not hindsight I said it before the game.
  21. Here we go - the Evertonians float to the surface like turds that won't flush the day we lose a game and one of our players gets a serious injury. I don't mind supporters of other teams who come over here and are objective and respectful of the fact that its another club's forum, in fact I enjoy their presence. However, Smith is a United player, Sissoko is a Liverpool player and you're just a gobschite Evertonian, so why don't you try not baiting people on here the morning after a bad night, and scuttle back down into the pit you came from.
