  1. See now this is the thing - I'm giving him that tag, not making judgements of what other people or journalists say, which I think is what many seem to be doing. I watched Pennant against us in the flesh twice last season, and his general play was absolutely outstanding. He linked with other players, worked extremely hard and moved well off the ball displaying a good football brain. Plus his delivery into the area from wide positions was superb. During the game at Anfield he must have put 10-15 crosses in, and every single one was into the right areas without exception. Eventually they equalised with 10 men after Sutton headed another of his crosses on goal which Xabi turned into his own net. Everyone I know at the Anfield game was highly enthusiastic about Pennant having watched him for a full 90 minutes. Apparently Rafa felt pretty much the same; Elisha came on here to say that was the case...
  2. You don't find the fact that he is an exceptionally talented footballer a positive?
  3. I listened to a bit of that. Just hearing McKay talk makes my skin crawl. He sounds like George Galloway if he tried his hand at being a football agent...

  5. Wasn't that when we signed Diao, Cheyrou and Diouf - everyone turned out to welcome them...
  6. He should have given him one of those sticks though, and got him to pick up some litter around Melwood. I mean, what the f*ck are we paying him for? Not to play football, of that I'm certain...
  7. Brilliant - thats about as much as he deserves, the slimy little Chelsea rent boy...

  10. We've got 3 strikers at the moment. Two are very injury prone, whilst the other Rafa feels the need to take off after an hour during most games. Anyone who doesn't think we need another striker is stark raving bonkers, no matter how many we've got who can play 'in the hole'. Its quite conceivable we could be left with no specialist strikers if we suffered a couple of injuries. Bellamy or Fowler get crocked long term, the othe two pick up knocks and we're f*cked.

I think it was a case of bluff, double bluff and Damien Duff bluff...

  15. I thought you were being sarcastic there, but it seems not. Incredible!
  16. Securing a fee for Diao would be the transfer shock of the summer. I was looking at a deal something along the lines of a packet of love hearts and a curly-wurly, but £700k is even better...
  17. Eboue is still very raw, which isn't surprising as he's only had a half a season at the top level of the game. So of course its ridiculous for anyone to say he's 'better than Finnan', who has been performing consistantly at the top level for Fulham and now us over the course of years. However, that said I honestly think Eboue has the pure ability to be one of the best full-backs in the game. He is absolutely devastating going forward; very skilful and lightning fast with one of those non-stop engines like Cafu, which enables him to get into position defensively after one of his marauding runs.
  18. Klose hasn't gone anywhere yet - he'd fit in nicely I think, and apparently may be available for as a little as £8m outside Germany...

And Fergie, driven insane by a mixture of the high levels of alcohol in his system and our breathtaking victory, goes completely insane and batters Quieroz to death with a Lucozade bottle...
  21. I'm led to believe he joined a travelling circus, and now swallows chickens whole for a living...

  24. I'm just glad I can visit this thread without the fear of Kev posting something suggesting Heskey may be coming back...
  25. I like Iaquinta - think he'd be well suited to the English game with his pace and power. He really is lightning quick, much moreso than you'd expect to look at him somehow...
