James is probably the best shot-stopper in the country but people forget how young he was when he joined us, and in the end he never did quite mature enough, possibly the same can be said now. Friedel made too many daft mistakes and still makes them, especially on crosses. Westerveld was decent but high balls were a nightmare for him and he wasn't physically strong enough. Kirkland was too injury prone, too raw and too hyped. He still has a long way to go. Dudek is the best out of all of them. Forget the last week - he hadn't played in god knows how long against anyone decent, so we shouldn't have expected much - he is actually a very good goalkeeper whose only flaw is long-distance shooting. As for Reina, his decision making at times when the ball is in the air is a bit iffy but he's young and he does give a calm sense of assurance to those ahead of him. But like all goalkeepers, that'll be tested when he makes a few more high-profile mistakes.
