Speaking a few weeks back to some Mancs I know they were all happy with him going to Madrid as they felt he was not the same since the injury. Think they will all be quite happy with him leaving to join us to be honest.

What the f*** do I have to do with it with? I know what the difference is, but Chelsea and Liverpool aren't trying to sign me FFS. They are trying to sign someone who has no allegience to either us or Chelsea. History doesn't matter a s**** to him. By joining us does he automatically get handed 5 European Cup winners medals? No, he doesn't. He wouldn't care if we'd won every single league title from 1892 until 1990. He is looking from the outside and he sees two big clubs, one with shed loads of cash who have an excellant squad, one with what looks like a hell of a lot of cash (us) and some great players; and both with success. Us with the CL 2 years ago, and the other with 2 CL semis and 2 league titles. He also has a mate playing at one of the teams so why is anyone surprised that this person with no alliegance to Liverpool, joins the one with sustained success over the last 3 years, pots of cash, and a mate playing for them. You know it doesn't make you any less of a Liverpool fan just because you can accept that there are other teams in the World.

You are correct that it depends on some peoples version of world class. For me, World class means you would get into a world squad of 25 or so. At Liverpool, in my mind, our World class players are Gerrard, Masch and Carra. We are lucky that we have a lot of player at that stage just below (my version) of world class, such as Alonso, Finnan, Kewel (if he ever got back to form) Reina, hopefully Torres. Going on your definition though. Garcia is a full international, although not first choice like you say, he has won a CL and is at one of the top teams in Europe (at the moment, although looks like he's off) but with your definition in mind that means Riise is world class and at the time so was Traore, and Baros, and Cisse, and Smicer (sorry Hels) and Dudek, which to me, they weren't. I suppose it's like the word 'Legend'. Some fans throw out that term for any player who's kicked a ball for their club, whereas in my eyes we only have a handfull of legends to have played for us.

Yeah, he lost me on that one also. I think some are guilty of believing that once we come in for a player then that is it, he shoudl come to us, end of story. Any other choice is because of the money. That's bolox quite frankly. Maloude has spoken with Mourinho and he may have convinced him that he feels Chelsea needs a winger to win the CL and so that's why he wants him. He also has a former team mate there and it's not like Chelsea havn't been successfull recently either.
