  2. A couple of posters on here should put money where their mouth is and apply for the job. The way they've been going on about the club's poor merchandizing and all that... Unless it's Everton of course. We don't want these experts to run the blue side's commercial activities better than our own, do we?

Whatever. Maybe in your book. I found these short definitions: patronizing = "treating others with condescension" dismissive = "showing indifference or disregard" Telling someone to behave CAN be both but I really did mean 'patronizing' as it is defined above, thank you very much. And if you look a couple of posts up I did mention that I'm not a native speaker and I also wrote 'In my book'. So if you choose to comment on my terminology, I must comment on your inability to understand written text. Anyway...

In my book telling someone to behave for expressing opinions is patronizing.

Why the patronizing tone, Scottie boy? I'm not a native english speaker so you might be mistaken about my true age. Try again. As for me being wet, thank you! Anyway, all this speculation about player X's worth on date X is CM stuff and therefore childish .

Behave? You tell Mr. Moores to behave then as well. He's always emphasized that LFC is a football club first and its success can only be measured by TROPHIES, not turnover, yield, cash flow, capital or success in the transfer market. Players are human beings not commercial papers. To me it's stock market talk when someone starts evaluating what a certain player is worth in X months time. Or whether we can recoup someone's transfer fee when he's sold.
  7. A better arranger and orchestrator than Frank. No, not the fat one, but the late, great Mothers of Invention leader, Frank Zapa.
  8. I know he's a tall bloke, but that's ridiculous!

I predict goals galore from November onwards! CL goals, league goals, converted penalties, FA Cup goals and lots of extra revenue to the coffers. That's what it all seems to boil down to. Money. A lot of zeroes, preferably I prefer silverware instead. But not bought. Earned. The hard way. This is football, not bloody Monopoly.

You may not believe it but my right ankle has been hurting since yesterday. Really annoying. And all I've done is walked 4 miles or so per day for the past few days. But after seeing that it feels a whole lot better.
  11. Djibs, take your time and get well. I hope to see you on the pitch leading our attack next spring when the other teams are getting tired. I expect you to give 'em hell and end next season the way you did for LFC this spring, scoring in a Final (or maybe two)! YNWA (one day I'll learn the phrase in French)
  12. Whoever it is, he will most likely replace Cissé also as the new scapegoat. Cissé replaced Smicer (took that title from Kewell's hands).
  13. England and I don't know why. Maybe it's the hype surrounding the Premiership, although everybody knows it's mostly the foreign players that make it the strong league it is. You don't need to look further than Arsenal. Anyway, I hope they fail miserably...
  14. Just like against Denmark a week or so ago, Ribery came on with a quarter to go and was MOM. This time he replaced Vieira and the same thing happened, France immediately stepped up a gear. He was involved in everything towards the end.

I don't think that's the plain truth at all. Generalisation of the highest order.

Excuse me, but we're not all native English speakers and that did clarify it a little, at least for me.

I don't know which is more terrible, the injury itself or some of the comments here... As if he's some sort of merchandise. For crying out loud, get a grip people!

  19. Being offside is A) not a crime and B) not always the fault of the player who is offside.
  20. His name for starters or his nationality You see, Finns don't lie.
  21. I can see it now how confused the future generations will be after hearing loads of stories about Cissé the 'pub footballer', 'not-a-footballer', 'embarrasment', 'most-expensive-mistake-ever' etc. and see clips of his contributions to some of our greatest victories. Sometimes I think some people can't tell apart Diouf from Cissé when they slag off the latter.
  22. The Klinsmann factor will even out the home advantage. I just can't see him getting it right.
  23. There were some good omen's in both Cheyrou's and Diao's case. The former scored a screamer against the Mancs in the CL and the latter scored one of the best (if not THE best) goals, in the 2002 WC. Who knew they both had already peaked when they arrived here... The loooong contracts offered to them turned out to be the stumbling block. Phil Babb, anyone?
  24. I can think of at least one of our own players who would certainly receive the same treatment...
