Well, the international break has slowed down the traffic on these boards somewhat, so I thought I'd do my share by commenting on a 30-minute Sami Hyypia documentary program I saw a few weeks back. Some snippets: - Sami's mother was a goalkeeper! - Sami's father was the coach of Sami's team early in his career. Sami showed the tree under which he went to cry after his dad had subbed him with a GIRL. - After the England-Finland international at Anfield Sami brought a set of diving gear to training for Emile, who dived when tackled by Sami. "He didn't take it too well, I guess, because I found the gear in the garbage bin and took it home..." The tackle in question was shown and I have to say it was embarrassing for Emile. I think England scored from the resulting freekick. - One of Sami's former coaches (current 2nd coach for Finland) described him as 'utterly and totally righteous bloke', always looking to do the right thing and expecting the same from those around him. - Sami expressed his sorrow for the people who got laid off from the paper mill in his hometown. The town in question (Kuusankoski) was affected a lot and needs state support.
