This may be why Rafa has been buying up centre backs like Kate Moss with her coke dealer.

No point in paying £15 million for a player who is only available for 3 months a season.

Put yourself in Rafa's shoes. A well paid job. Chance to become a legend. Degree of job security not apparant at other super-clubs. Real Madrid. Who knows what shape a new administration would take? What financial position are they in - yes they have lots of income but how much do they owe - look at the wage bill. And most importantly the job becomes available every six months or so. Sitting tight at Anfield is hardly a risk. Its not like the next year or so will provide his only chance to manage Real. He is still a relatively young manager. On the other hand he is Real's version of Paul Jewell (albeit slimmer and more succesful as a manager). I do not doubt for one minute that he would love to be in charge their. But he would want Butrogaycreep out of the way I would imagine and similar authority to what he has at Anfield. On balance I think he will stay put until summer 2007 at the earliest.

R Benetiz: European cup wins 1; Spanish league titles 2; UEFA cup 1. andythered: nada. Who am I to question his footballing knowledge? If he thinks Moro needs playing time I would tend to trust him. I don't think favourtism won him those trophies. Many people here and elsewhere have a strange tendency to channel all of their negative aggression towards an individual player. It was Kewell until recently. Now it is Moro. Grow up.

I thought it was down to cctv and better policing in grounds. Only knobheads think that the less well off cause all the trouble. Look up some stories of those police operations arresting known trouble making gangs over the years. Most had decent jobs. Mass generalisations dont do anyone any favours.

Loved the irony of Del Horno being unfairly sent off at the same part of the pitch the Reina got sent off. The c*** should have gone 5 mins earlier for trying to kneecap Messi though. f***ing loved it when Ronaldinho was taking the piss.

Suspect it will be a different game at home. Havnt seen that much play-acting, diving, holding on in the penalty areas outside of a chesea game for a while. See where that f*** Calvahlo gets it from now. f*****s.

Good piss-take of the precious little englander attitude in the Anorak this week: Local Hero Next Anorak Says story 9 Feb 2006 SAM Allardyce for England! Yeah, if you want the team to be twinned with Royston Vasey, home to the League of Gentlemen. Sam and Sven - the dream team Allardyce looks uncannily, and unfortunately, like a cross between the comedy show?s Herr Lipp and Tubbs Tattsyrup. After Swedish Sven, Big Sam truly is the local candidate. Oh, come, come, stop clacking your tongue and shaking your head. Bolton Wanderers manager Sam knows the game. If he wants to be the next England manager, he?d best toughen up. During his tenure as the England manager, Graham Taylor had his head plastered all over a turnip on the Sun?s front page but he never banned the Sun?s hacks from talking to him or attending press conferences. What of Big ?Girls Blouse? Sam? When BBC Five Live?s egotistical commentator Alan Green commented that Bolton play ?ugly football? that he wouldn?t pay to watch, Sam refused to talk to the station or the broadcaster. ?I thought Alan Green was a Liverpool fan, but the comments he made don?t deserve me talking about them,? said Big Sam. ?I wouldn?t want to try to encourage the BBC to keep him employed really. If I make comments, it just fuels the situation and keeps the bubble growing.? So Sam won?t comment. He?s bigger than that. And he won?t even talk to Five Live, let alone the journalists, as Green surely is, who committed the sin of voicing an opinion. What happens when Allardyce?s England start playing like Allardyce?s Bolton and lump the ball up to the big lads up front? Will we able to criticise? So as not to offend sensitive Sam, will we have to join the chorus of Sky TV?s nodding heads who give blanket praise for anything and everything, issuing aural numbutal to the masses? And if we do, will Sam refuse to talk to anyone who doesn?t see things his way and ?get behind the lads?? Or will England?s supporters ? like today?s Bolton fans ? not care at all for the style, so long as we win? And so long as Sam is local?

"The Liverpool fans gathering in the Portuguese capital this morning may not be aware of the concept but they know what schadenfreude feels like". Thank you Tim Rich. In fact I am aware of a feeling called schadenfreude (not a concept) and I get it whenever I read patent drivel written by poor journalists stereotyping groups of football fans. I take pleasure in the fact that you are such a poor writer and thinker.

WOn the ball himself as well. Awesome.

See why Steve Hunter does radio though....
-
Problem is that it wont be in the shop until after Christmas.
-
Barnett, Hamill, Anderson and Parsonage look very good going forward. Seen little of our more defensive players save Antiwi who is winning the ball repeatedly. Does Steve Hunter have a gun on the table?
-
sick if true... but somehow I doubt it is....

Anyone notice that is nose is now a very deep shade of blueish purple?

I was surprised to see Stevie G taking it. I know he is the main penalty taker and all that but...
-
TNS played at Wrexham for their home leg. The pitch there is pretty good.
-
"Unfortunately he was unable to live up to his internet uberlegend and his scuffed shot was cleared with comfort" Great line.

Apart from Rooney and Stevie. Name one player not over-rated in that side. Coupled with long ball Eriksson's tactical naivety and lack of passion England are doomed.
