Totally agree, as much as i like Alonso and Sissoko shows potential. They are not a balanced pairing IMO. Fabregas, Scholes and Lampard all do jobs for their teams that other than Gerrard nobody else at Liverpool is cabable of. Its also undeniable that Pennants very poor form is not helping the team and Rafa in terms of forming a strong settled midfield.

If the gaffer picks you at right midfield (despite what coaching legend Andy Gray thinks) try and actually play right midfield. It might help the team. We had no right midfield today, given that Finnan seemed unwilling to go past the half way line the only right sided option for Alonso and Zenden when they had the ball was when Kuyt went out right. This in turn left only Crouch outnumbered in the box. Last season he was immense out right, going past full backs, whipping in great crosses. This season I get the impression Gerrard has made his mind up that right midfield is just not for him. Curious.

Gerrard didnt play right midfield today. Nobody played right midfield today. If he had played there we might not have been so bad.
