What that article effectively says is: we're probably signing Timo Werner. If £50m is the new £30m, then Werner would be a Mane-style purchase - apparently has a €60m release clause, and is good enough to be *just* behind our front three, but with JK's tutelage, the potential to replace one of them i n the longer term.

Watching that as it happened I said out loud (as Ali) "no, nowhere near good enough. Would you like another go?" He's unfairly brilliant.

Yeah we are definitely past the point at which I get bored with manager mode in Fifa or Pro Evo. Even more so if we win the CL again. Hope Jurgen doesn't do what I do at that point, and switch to the Tranmere job to try and take them to European glory.

That is just fantastic. What a completely ridiculous season we're having.

Another bonkers stat in a season of bonkers stats. Joe & VVD are quite the pair.

F'king Tories.

when you put it like that...yeah. Luckily we're just dead, dead good at identifying good players now, wherever they come from.

State of that back 5. If you'd said what it would be like 4 years on compared to that... mind-boggling.

I'm loathe to say it, but Kepa seems (statistically) worse than Karius, which is quite an achievement for the Most Expensive Keeper In The Worldtm

Back to the match... this is pretty good (for F365) (apologies if Romario): 16-conclusions from liverpool-2-0 "But then that is the nature of trying to beat this particular game of whack-a-mole. Whereas Manchester City’s strength at their peak was the almost mechanic way of scoring the exact same goal – dragging opponents out of position before a wide forward squares it for a teammate to score from six yards – Liverpool are the exact opposite. They have so many different ways of inflicting pain and pressure that succumbing to one of them is inevitable. It could be a Firmino flick, some Salah magic, a sudden burst and finish from Mane, Divock Origi tripping over his own shoelaces and accidentally arsing it in or Georginio Wijnaldum finishing a sublime team move. It could come from a press, a counter-press, a Gegenpress or just some impressive skill. The only certainty is that it will happen... You can cover as many holes as you like but you will run out of plugs long before they run out of ideas."

What?? That's ridiculous. Wow.

Yeah, I couldn't in all conscience claim both wings... as Messi might just bump Mo for his spot, but I wouldn't swap Sadio for anyone. BTW even more absurd is that we did so for not much more than we got for selling Benteke, Sakho, Ward, Mings, Solanke, Allen, Ibe, Stewart, Ings, Camacho, Smith, Alberto and Kent (deliberately excluded Phil, as he's the one player we sold who would still be useful to the team, unlike everyone on that list.) Whoever's doing these deals now is basically a genius. They've turned lead into gold.

I continually find it astonishing that in the past 4 years we've bought what's turned out to be the best goalkeeper, centre back, left back, defensive mid and left winger on the planet.

Footy - the old one

Bit more than that, I suspect. Burnley are the most albino side you'll ever see. Aaron Lennon & one youth kiddie are the only non-white people at the entire club, far as I can tell. Slightly odd compared to every other top-flight side in Europe. -
This is bonkers - and there was a match recently where we got 2 IIRC? Surely those kind of numbers must result in the ref being demoted/questioned, especially as doubtless the oppo got far more frees than us. And we have 65%+ possession, and lots of time up and against the oppo defense. How the hell can anyone think we're being favoured when there's so few fouls going our way? When Ferguson was at Utd they got 10+ frees per game, every game.

F'k me, however many times you see him, it's always shocking just how talented Suarez was. And peak Sturridge wasn't bad either.

There's been a lot of truly rubbish English keepers over the past 30 years. Just about every half-decent young 'un gets talked about as the second coming of Banks before they are revealed to be another version of Chris Turner.
