  1. The unfortunate thing about this effort would be the media spin placed upon the event - "Liverpool heads still in the stand - Liverpool bosses continue to lower their clubs reputation by requesting no handshakes at the upcoming match due to uneasiness of RACIST Luis Suarez, implicated as a RACIST by Patrice Evra in recent months."
  2. I had heard it was markedly lower than even that, however I was just copying the value from the Beeb article, so you are more than likely correct.
  3. It was Spartak Moscow.
  4. Well the opposite to having a few bad games in a string of 35 good games, is having a few good games in a string of 35 bad/inadequate games, so i agree. Stealth Edit there. I dont think its unrealistic to consider his form at Newcastle to be a purple patch given the cicrumstances, and as the old adage states "Form is temporary, Class is permanent". I dont feel he looked anything special at the end of last season either, if I may be honest.
  5. They sold Bilyatedinov for £5M.
  6. Just the one I believe, but the underlying current in the latter posts of this thread, to me at the very least, has suggested that certain quarters now believe he has the desire/talent/ability/motivation/whatever to do this on a regular basis. I am merely saying to exercise caution - if a player had a handful of bad games in a string of 35 good ones noone would label him as potentially going downhill after one said bad performance, and in a similar notion i feel that it is unwise to state that in the opposite scenario, particularly given as Carroll had a decent game and nothing more, we are likely to see a turn around from a player who has been pretty damn poor up to now.
  7. I would agree that he doesnt, but nor do those who have stated the tide has turned and I dont believe I noticed any snide remarks in their direction. I myself possess nothing more than logic and mild intuition, both of which suggest that despite a decent performance, when compared with previous showings I must add, he will not mount to anything other than a wistful "what could have been".
  8. Indeed, a definite improvement on previous games but it is clear that there are plenty of attributes that need to be worked on. His performance yesterday should be the baseline, not the performance to take positives from, and even at that he struggled on numerous occasions with passing and technique.
  9. Carroll had a decent performance yesterday, and you can praise him for that (although i would protest at the limit of gis performance being 'decent'), but i feel some quarters are getting carried away. One decent performance does not make a player nor does it mean the tide had turned.
  10. Conversely i would say an element of it is 'guys, im leaving in the summer so you may well pretend to like me for four months so we can win the league.' it also would be like huge sour grapes if he did not win the league and just left so i feel this is a better method.
  11. Indeed. Too many questions yet to be answered. We shall see.
  12. Interesting team selection. One must question the removal of johnson in a wingback system.
  13. To maintain a suitable level of mystique, i shall decline your request for information. I shall, however, encourage your use of imagination to construct my age.

  15. Imagine him with an eyepatch and you will see my point.
  16. Jolly good work. Im just not very au fait with "Twitter".
  17. If I may be both blunt and honest I suspect that Pique and Xavi would be instrumental in any underhand dealings behind the scenes at Barcelona, particularly Pique as he has the look of a troublesome character. I must also point out that it is unlikely to occur at the present time given their winning nature, and also that they have promoted from within in Pep Guardiola, who is aware of the history and what is expected in the future. That said, I would not rule it out entirely at some point in the next ten to fifteen years - I evidence the dual hateful and reverential treatment that Mr Cruyff has received in recent times, depending on who was in charge. One of Mourinhos main assets is his man management, but some ego's are untamable, and Ramos is probably one of the few players who is more egocentric than a playboy bunny in front of a mirror. He is probably onto a loser here, but i still expect him to win the league before he leaves. Unfortunately I have been charmed by the charming psychopath.

  19. I am most excited for this match, possibly even more so than when my fine grandmother cooked her delicious famous chicken and sweetcorn pie. LETS BE HAVIN YA! 2-0 Liverpool.
  20. It was @LFC, whoever that may be.
  21. I am very sorry, but im not entirely sure what a "postywost" is?
