As a basic statement, OK, but does he not think that as manager of Liverpool he might need to find a way to get around that particular problem. Like, oh, I dunno, use more of the squad so everyone's not knackered. Get the players fitter so everyone's not knackered. Maybe just not lose so much. It also seems to be fingers in the ears la-la-laaing given that about half of those European games were lost too... I really cannot wait until this fraud has gone.

For me this is absolutely the worst in all my fifty+ years of watching them. I’ve never not wanted to watch us before, I’ve never seen a team so placid, so complacent, so easy to play against, never seen football so turgid, never heard so many ridiculous excuses from the manager. We’ve had terrible times under a few other managers but never with players as good as these should be (and could be, and have been). It’s just atrocious.

Of all the things he should be sacked for, losing that game is the least of 'em. We didn't get embarrassed by PSG last year, it was a great two legs of football between two really good teams, it was clear we'd be utterly knackered after that and I think that was the reason for us looking second best in that final. Don't get me wrong, I want him gone yesterday but of all of his crimes against Liverpool Football Club, that is very low down on the chargesheet.

I'll probably get pelters for this but at school I was a prefect and the standard school punishment for general daftness was to demand a two, five or ten page essay (depending on level of daftness), to be handed in the next day, on the subject of a prefect's choosing. My favourite one to hand out was "Why I Am Recalcitrant".

I prefer em. Tapas is meh by comparison.
