For me all our efforts right now should be a centre back who could play tomorrow if needed. I don't know if that makes him a big signing or not but we should push the boat out on this position and pay over the odds if needed. He needs to be the right player for both the long (Sami's replacement )and short term even if it means passing on the right midfield till the summer. Any long term injury or even a bad hamstring injury to either Carra or Hyppia could see our season fall apart within a month due to the crutial games coming up from now till the summer. What a waste of everyone at the clubs hard work if our season was finished due to a Carra twisted ankle and a Sami hamstring. For me the whole team is a house of cards at the moment until we get cover in and the more games our centre backs play week in week out the more likely an injury will occur.

Does he just go back to his other club and everyone forgets about it or was he released by the club before hand? Seems a bit strange.

Been a great entertaining game so far. Rafa will be pissed off with the first 50 mins but we've scored some truely brilliant goals today.

f*** all this rubbish about it being a trophy that is not worth winning.Only the Mancs say that. One of the best moments of my life was being in Cardiff watching Owen bang 2 past Arsenal. It's a bloody huge trophy and one we should be in for winning every year. It's a brilliant thing to win and does nothing but create confidence within the team. We will win tomorrow and we should take it seriously. I'd be over the moon tosee Gerrard lift that trophy over Cardiff/Wembly for the last/first time.

1 or 2 great midfelders and the Mancs have a brilliant team again. Rooney Ruud and Ronaldo when on form are are brilliant forward line for any team in the world. They've been crap in europe for some reason but considering how crap thw midfield is they have done a brilliant job up front. It's scary to think what they could do with decent players behind them. Persoally I'm gonna wait before slagging them off.

That would be funny. Some of the stuff written was really dreadful. He's a class footballer and once he got fit that was always going to shine through.I was just a case of when. After watching the Chelsea match he made the comment "Ahh since the sky thingy I see football has gone all WWF" Hard to argue.Once you're in the special group of the top 2/3 decisions come your way. Just got to get there as I'll happily go along with such decisions when they go our way but it's a pain when it doesn't . That Terry decision and his excuse afterwards was a total joke. That ref should be banned from prem games for a year as it was totally crazy. If we come second this season with around 9 points difference then it's refs that have cost us.

Was Willem van Hanegem very good? Can't say I ever got to see him play or if I did I didn't realise it was him. The reason I ask is I worked with a guy for about 5 years who mentioned one day rather casually when playing pro evo in work (he played the classic Dutch team) said there's my uncle out there referring to Van Hanegem.

Most people are doing exactly the same thing on here although for far far less money
