Ahhh it's class isn't it! I read that a while ago and thought, some people just have simply fantastic egos. It's one thing briefly thinking it but to then put it in print!

Please stop! Finally, does anyone think that Maradona woulds have scored that wondergoal against the current England side? He would have beeen fouled or dispossesed. Why didn't everyother player go on 60 yard runs and score then? My point being that Ronaldinho can pllay with the freedom of knowing he's not going to get hacked down from behind. Watch Maradona in any world cup. He was ear marked in every game and if we were playing by todays rules every team he every played against would be down to about 6 men by half time. . Granted others were offered more space but he certainly wasn't. The game is faster now but it's also alot less physical regarding what you can get away with. I'm sure a young Maradona now would fully take advantage like Ronaldinho. Both brilliant brilliant players indeed but Maradona shades it. P.S. Do you still think Carra wouldn't get a game for a 4th div Spanish side?

Some people blame the board for giving Ged 20 million to spend on players. These same people blame the board for not making this kind of money available to Rafa.

Without him there is NO WAY we would have won no 5 so for me he's the kind of player you can't do without. We are not fighting relegation every week! Surely now we've seen the team without him it's obvious how poor we are without his magic. Granted he loses the ball alot but the team is set up to cover for that and then give it to the players who can make a difference?

Sorry I deffo am not mocking you at all and sorry if it came accross like that. That was not the intention at all. *holds hands up* Regarding needing the tools for the job! I'm sure rafa was told exactly what was and what wasn't available when he joined. Perhaps some investment hasn't happened or worked out like he was told it would but thats for him to deal with. LikeI said the bonus of him chiising the players rather than the board must be a buzz and if more money does show up he'll be even happier. You would expect to have 100% backing of your bosses and expect them to rebuke any approach and not give any 'encouragement' to others regardless how small it may be. I'm not sure how carfully you worded this but it reads like he was told if you get an offer and you fancy it then off you go. Goodbye. I'd be really surprised at this unless their was a huge dislike between the board and raffa. If that is the case then it worrying but I think the current board have helped us to a huge amount of sucess over the last six/ten years for me to think they are like shepard and co. at Newcastle.

Like you I like where we're going. I do wonder if we are sacrificing to much defensive work on the strikers though causing us not to create decent chances and if we opened up would we be as good at the back. If we had the cash we could do a ManU and buy class forwards who bridge the gap regardless of support from the midfield. Hopefully we'll fall somewhere in the middle and get some forwards who can actually finish what we currently create. I'd love to know who Rafa talks to about forwards btw. Seems to me it's the one area he's really not brilliant at so far.

Let me say this. Gerrard acted like a kid. Which he is/was. He had to make massive decisions in the lime light which would be tough and stressful on anyone never mind someone so young and not really versed in the media speal which I'm glad he seems to avoid as much as possible. He was flattered by the attention and fair play, who wouldn't be? He's an amazing footballer and any team would benifit from his talents. That's how good he is and I think part of his flirtation with Chelsea was realising that fact. No harm done. Rafa is different. For a start he's a manager. Half his job is to deal with people.In an industry as fickle as football he'd be a fool to burn any bridge which offered itself to him and he's right. You just never know and that's why it's best to keep everyone on your side as much as possible. He's playing the game and it's a smart move to make. Only a div would come out and say feck off to big teams in such an industry and a div he ain't. Publically he'll voice himself as a Liverpool man till the end but behind closed doors he'll keep his options open like all sucessful people. This doesn''t mean he's about to jump ship at all. All it means is he's being smart in my eyes. He made a huge move to come to Liverpool and learn the lingo etc. It must be getting easier for him now. Why waste all that hard work when his cred is so high!? For me he'll use this to force the hand of the board and get them moving making sure that he has what's needed come the summer....after all he has options, just like EVERY sucessful person and if he sees the board worried and making the right moves then he'll use it to his advantageand make us better. It's all good.

Yeah rumours. We all know the basics. We don't have the cash the manager needs. Same with every club in the world bar Chelsea. If everything was rosey I'd be worried.
