Totally agree. I remember his first game thinking this guy could really be something special. I really thing we've got the real deal with Sissoko. I can't think of a better and well matched trio than Alonso, Gerrard and Sissoko. Everything great about footballing midfielders those 3 have with change.

Just shows ya how much of it is a little luck and confidence. Amazing really as I don't think we're playing that much better really. Even Gerrard said the same.

Not interesting really. Just reality. Heskey is an excellent footballer player in the bigger scheme of things but he's not in the top bracket and never was. It looked like he might reach it after 2001 but that was the peek not the norm. The only reason he lasted so long was he looked physically like it was all there but mentally where it counts he knew he didn't have the 20% extra that counts. Why? Did he realise he was blagging it? I'm being mean.I'm sorry. Listen Heskey is a great player but he's not in the top bracket you think he is. That's no knock down as he's done more and won more than most. He's a feckin quality player in the top tier of footballers but just off the pace when it comes to the cream at the top. Nice guy excellent player just not the quality to be a week in week out player for Liverpool?! How's that! As for the players who wanted to play Owen rather than Heskey ! Oviously more concerned with bruises than losing.

He was either injured or he wasn't Kev. I don't remember him being bound and gagged and forced to go to the world cup as Englands saviour. He was hardly Maradona! The injury used to rear it's ugly head every time a game got tough. Might as well have had the rest as he wasn't any help on the pitch. Are you seriously telling me you could see Gerrard limping around the park for a season and a half if their was a serious problem? Who would risk 10 million pounds? Is it all Geds fault? Either it was a proper injury or else it was in his head as backup when things got tough. This was the bit that pissed me off. Either he was out of action or he was fit. He obviously played the "I'll soldier on boss" knowing players like Baros could come on and do at least as good a job. Why did he tell England he was fit when he wasn't? These are the things that drove me crazy with Heskey. Eiter you're in or out. No worries when your injured but if you're fit make a fecking effort at least and don't rely on the limp once a few tackles come flying in. This is one thing you can't say about Moro, Pongo, Crouch or Fowler regardless of his fitness. They have been poor in front of goal but they are trying and they are not hiding at all,even Moro who works his ass off and credit where it's due I don't think he's ever had to work so hard to find a goal.

It'll be interesting to see if he continues like he's started. Next Shearer if it all goes well for him.He a big bloke, has skills, plays it simple and has a great shot and an eye for goal. What could go wrong!...It's a gamble but the Hammers could have a brilliant player indeed!

I've never slagged him off really (except when he went into the fake limp thingy) as he came accross as a lovely bloke but he was really miles off the pace at Liverpool. He just wasn't good enough. He had the physique but not the mental strenght which is more important. Way to fragile. Just like Smicer he hid all the time.

I never wanted Cisse but I'm glad he came if only to signal the end of Heskey. Sorry but bar THAT season Heskey was fecking dog s**** of the highest order. Never has a player turned me from watching my team play like Heskey could. He single handedly drained my passion for Liverpool for two seasons with his bloody stupid limp once he knew he was in a game. How you can find negatives with so much currently and still support a player terrified of getting into goal scoring positions incase he was actually called on to shoot is simply crazy. This is the current forward who have had a bad 3 months who we all want sold btw. No idea of any of this. If Cisse was keeping better players out of the starting line up I'd agree but he isn't and he offers as much as Heskey anyway most of the time.

What about that Manc kid who players in the lower leagues and helped Trinidad and Tobago get into the world cup finals. Manchester and Tobago are far more different than England and Germany yet I'm sure the T&T crowd don't care as I'm sure the manc bloke (can't remember his name) doesn't either as he's going to beplaying in a world cup against England!! Seems to have burst on the scene. I've never really seen much of him before. He's rough around the ages but he could be a class player. Seems a bit like Saha in his Fulham days. How come he's getting so many games all of a sudden?

Brilliant touch by Ashton to make space for the shot in his first. Lovely skill indeed. He looks a big bloke as well. I reckon he could turn into a Shearer like player by his build and decent shot.

I think Dudek is a far better shot stopper but in everyother area Reina is better.

Imagine if Fowler had scored any of Garcia's last 10-15 goals!!
