Agreed. You could see Virg constantly screaming for them to be quicker. I think we’ve just run our race and are knackered. It was a gamble from the manager but it looks like it’ll pay off.
No not today granted.
A great no 9 that fits this set up ( whatever that is) will make such a difference. The amount of chances we create and the amount of ball we have in the opposition final 3rd without converting ( at least to the naked eye) seems like a really big issue although we’ve strangely scored loads.
Having all the ball and all the stats in our favour only for the opposition to score from one chance makes it tough work.
Could/should be 4-0 up easily. They could have scored right on half time.
We are playing great but we need a no 9 for sure. So many chances created and not finished off.
Mo’s control from those long balls today is out of this world.
We must also have a lot of money saved from last season. If you think a massive club brings in 2-3 players a season then 5 this summer would make 6 in total over 2 years and four transfer windows. Basically the minimum requirement.
Plus Trent’s wages.
Get forwards that regularly score goals and Mo won’t get all the attention from opposition defenders.
Think we’ve seen a bit of a decline in Mo as everyone else seemed to dry up too.
The Anfield wrap mentioned it being hugely incentivised. That sounds perfect from a club pov. Also shows Mo’s still fired up.
It brilliant as although he’s not gonna go hungry if he doesn’t score, he could have seriously cashed in right now.
