1. Arriving at Taksim Square - amazing Sea of Reds, meeting up with matty (who looked like he'd just downed a pint of liquified schit) and Vic (who didn't) for beers, then the rest of the YNWA crew arriving bit by bit, beer by beer, song by song ('gingernobs' being the best). Loved it. 2. Taxi to the Ground - Total hilarious chaos. Some bloke in an adjacent cab waving his welsh flag singing "Are you having some of that?" at us, to which we sang back "No, we're not having any of that", Murph talking bolllocks with the taxi driver, neither understood a word the other was saying apart from the word "Besiktas", Singing "Your leg, you've got piss down your leg, you've got piss down your leg, you've got piss down your leg..." at all the reds who'd stopped off en route to slash everywhere. All the locals who cheered us roadside to the ground ( at the little cn*t who nicked my flag). Then the great swathe of reds walking through the rubble toward the ground when the traffic stopped. 3. At the ground - "Please get off the stage, the stage is about to collapse...." Is it feck "DER, DER, DER, DER, DER, DER, DER, DER" - just a brilliant atmosphere before the game, anticipation that we were about to witness something special. Never to be forgotten night.
