  1. Chelsea were awful, a very lucky three points, just confirms what I said a few weeks ago that the Mancs will win the title.
  2. No Arbeloa or Aurelio in the matchday squad, Rafa saving them for Europe?
  3. TEAM NEWS Reina Carragher Skrtel Hyypia Riise Alonso Lucas Kuyt Gerrard Babel Torres Subs: Finnan Crouch Pennant Benayoun Itanjde
  4. Everton fan just on City "It makes a good season for us when we beat Liverpool" Small club springs to mind
  5. I'm intrigued by that part, any ideas who? If it is virtually tied up now it can't surely be a player in England then?
  6. She is better than Motson then.
  7. Those three subs just emphasise how far behind them we are in terms of personnel. Bringing on easily £40million of talent and taking off £50million worth of talent. The Mancs are ultra consistent and we need a Ronaldo in our team, another decent striker and an outstanding full back.
  8. It would have been interesting to see if Ronaldo was injured for an entire season, see how the Mancs can cope because everything they do going forward goes through him. Plenty of goals and plenty of assists. The lad is that good that I think if we had him at right midfield instead of Pennant or Benayoun we would be in a shout for the title. Some people may think that is just wishful thinking but this season ultimately the difference between us and the Mancs in terms of the League table has been our respective home records. The away records are similar, all those draws cost us big time, if we had someone of similar ability to Ronaldo they could have been the one player to convert those draws into wins. Ronaldo does it all the time for the Mancs. Home Record Mancs P17 W15 D1 L1 Pts 43 Liverpool P16 W9 D6 L1 Pts 33 Another 5 victories (10pts) make a world of difference.
  9. 12. Middlesbrough 34 13. Sunderland 33 14. Reading 32 15. Newcastle 32 16. Wigan 31 17. Birmingham 30 18. Bolton 26 19. Fulham 24 20. Derby RELEGATED Think the bottom three will finish as they are now, that is a huge blow for Bolton today, they may never recover from it.
  10. Extremely fortunate goal, Van Persie's effort was awful and somehow, two deflections later its in the back of the net. Got to give them credit, 10 men, problem for us it has now lifted their spirits for the games against us.
  11. Gotta give credit when its due, down to 10 men, 2 nil down and back level at 2-2. Showing some fight.
  12. Cahill and Toure appear to be best mates. Hugging and holding onto one another every time there is a corner kick. Been all Bolton this half, Wenger makes a change, Adebayour and Walcott on.
  13. Don't forget they are the best team ever to grace a football pitch. Oh and don't forget that they are FAR superior than us despite them finishing below us for the past two seasons. It would be good if they ended up with nothing again this season. They are at the moment doing a great job at self destructing, lets hope they keep this up for another 3 games. 2-0 now Bad defending by Arsenal and a deflection favours Bolton. Arsenal don't look comfortable in defence, I think if we stretch the play, get in behind their defence and fling a few crosses in we may get some success.
  14. They are athletes today rather than footballers. Half of these players in the Premier League wouldn't be playing in the Old Division One from 20 yrs ago because they lack the basic ball skills. Its all about getting fit as you can rather than concentrating on passing the ball properly. I am sure if the 78-79 team played the current League Champions, they would out football them no problem at all however physical fitness would tell as the game wore on.
  15. Well obviously Rafa felt the situation Mascherano got himself into was primarily his fault then!
  16. Starting to lose some respect for Capello and he has only been here for 5mins! Honestly thought he was better than that.

Not exactly going to help on the radio.

    Andy Gray

Naturally but his job as a commentator is to be impartial, to show no favouritism towards either team. I think it is fair that he can criticise us constructively but when it goes beyond that, meaning saying the same tired old clichés about Liverpool (Rotation, a reliance on certain players blah blah) and at the same time showing blatant favouritism towards Everton, he has crossed a line that no commentator should, essentially he isn't doing his job properly. To be fair to Gray he isn't the only commentator in the past few years who can't do their job properly. In my opinion a commentators job is this, he has to be fair, give constructive criticism, be knowledgeable about the game, know about the teams performances this season, impartial and not looking to be controversial. I want to know which player is on the ball at any given time and I do NOT want to know their opinion about how BAD they think the game is and I DON'T want to know what they ate for dinner last night or what they were doing last weekend, Alan Green is the worst for that. Standards of football commentary in this country on the TV and on the Radio is declining all the time.

Well we'll see how Mr Gray gets on in the derby game tomorrow, I'm expecting no impartiality like. He'll be cheering on the Bitters.

    Mascherano

It should be, one for the red card and one for the dissent (Not leaving the pitch). Be a joke if he gets any more than that, if he does I'd consider appealing .

    Myths

Another myth spread by the media, disappointed in Henchoz's comments, we are no different to any of the other top 3 teams when it comes to rely heavily on certain players to score goals. Liverpool 30 League goals from Torres and Gerrard out of 55 goals altogether (54.5%) Mancs 36 League goals from Ronaldo and Tevez out of 64 goals altogether (56.3%) Arsenal 26 League goals from Adebayour and Fabregas out of 59 goals altogether (44%) Chelsea 18 League goals from Drogba and Lampard out of 55 goals altogether (33%) We are no more reliant on Torres and Gerrard than the Mancs are on Ronaldo and Tevez to score them goals. In fact it shows the Mancs are actually MORE reliant on those two individuals to get them goals. I think it is just a case that our reliance on Gerrard and Torres is constantly being banded about in the media and football in general. That is why so many Reds get annoyed about it, its just another stick to beat Liverpool with. Yes we have massively underperformed in the League this season but the reliance on these two players is not the reason to why we have struggled. Take out Ronaldo's and Tevez's contribution to the Mancs team, I will say they would be no where near to challenging for the title. You see how silly that statement sounds? That is what certain pundits in the media do all the time.
  22. He looks like Mr Burns sending signals to Homer during the Softball game.
  23. I'm not just talking solely about the starting 11, I'm talking about the Match day squad which would include the bench. Would any of them make the bench?
  24. Fantastic news I honestly thought this season would be he last, he struggled at the beginning but after having a run in the team due to Agger's absence he has been solid as ever. He won't be first choice next season due to his lack of pace but he would make ideal back up. Well done Sami.
  25. You'll get there Just out of interest NWR, in my post above, in the list of Liverpool players I have provided which of those players are good enough you feel could make it into your match day squad? I think your answer would be telling because in my opinion the difference in quality of the two squads is the reason for the gulf between us and yourselves. Be honest!
